On July 25, Orchard Village celebrated Disability Pride!

Participants, staff, family, and friends proudly participated in the Disability Pride Parade, showing up to celebrate inclusion, community, and the many incredible people who make Orchard Village so special. Thank you to everyone who walked, rode, cheered, and helped make the day such a meaningful celebration!
Disability Pride celebrates the disability community, honors the progress made, and continues to build a more inclusive world for everyone.

Governor Pritzker has proclaimed today, July 26, 2026, as “Americans with Disabilities Act Day,” Illinois' observance of the Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Orchard Village is proud to support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 36th Anniversary. On July 26th we celebrate this important civil rights law that works to ensure all people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

Indulge in the flavors of the season and visit Orchard Village at the Skokie Farmers’ market this Sunday, July 12th! Orchard Village produce is grown by OV participants in collaboration with the Talking Farm using organic methods.

Purchasing from Orchard Village helps sustain the gardening program, which provides recreational therapy, job training, and community connection to program participants.

🌈 July is Disability Pride Month! 🌈

Each July, we celebrate Disability Pride Month, recognizing the strength, diversity, and contributions of people with disabilities. The month coincides with the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) being signed into law. This landmark piece of legislation protects the rights and promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities.

To celebrate, Orchard Village participants, families, friends, and supporters will be participating in the Chicago Disability Pride Parade on Saturday, July 25!

Last weekend, five Orchard Village athletes traveled to Illinois State University to compete in the Summer Games, showcasing determination, sportsmanship, and hard work throughout the competition.
