Unity Charlottesville An inclusive spiritual community practicing love-in-action. Join us for 10:30am Service every Sunday in Charlottesville off Hydraulic Road.

Unity is a world-wide movement that was founded in 1889 by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in Kansas City, MO, as part of the growing New Thought movement in America. We refer to ourselves as “culturally Christian and universally inclusive,” meaning that historicaly, our primary inspiration has been from the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. However, we recognize truth in all of the world’s sacred scriptures and faith traditions and view each person as a unique expression of the divine energy we call God (by many names). We affirm each week that we recognize the Divine within each person while honoring the Truth in all spiritual and religious paths. Currently, there are nearly 1,000 Unity churches and study groups around the world. Unity of Charlottesville has been part of the Charlottesville, Virginia area community since 1978.

Join us this Sunday as we draw on the "Three Faces of God" framework from Integral spirituality. We’ll explore three different perspectives through which we experience the Divine:
As Consciousness within us,
As Presence with whom we can be in relationship, and
As Ultimate Reality revealed in and through all creation.
Each perspective offers its own unique gift, opening us more fully to a life of joy, freedom, and fulfillment. In person and livestreaming (link in comments)

This past Sunday Rev. Stacy talked to us about the discomfort of liminality and times of change. She invited us to notice threshold experiences wherein we may want some certainty. And yes, “In the liminal space, there may be an absence of certainty,” she says. “There may even be an absence of control. But there is no absence of wholeness. There is no absence of love. There is no absence of peace, because we can’t be absent from any of that. That is our complete divine nature.” Even though we cannot have certainty, Rev Stacy reminds us, we can give ourselves wholeness, love, and peace now. This is the work of spiritual community.
