The Blue Ridge Center

The Blue Ridge Center Helping students thrive by expanding intellectual diversity across Grounds. We offer programs tailored to meet this challenge. Join us on this important mission.

The Blue Ridge Center is a collaboration between concerned students, faculty, alumni, and other members of the Charlottesville community working to expand intellectual diversity at the University of Virginia. We believe that exposure to a wider range of views unlocks a student's full potential. Grappling with competing ideas sharpens our intellectual formation and prepares us to interact with the

full range of people living at UVA, in our Commonwealth, in our country, and around the world. We host speakers specializing in a range of topics, offering students a chance to hear competing ideas and meet interesting scholars and thinkers. We offer intensive discussion groups small enough to allow students to ponder and deeply scrutinize important viewpoints that are too often neglected. And we offer students career and professional development assistance to help them pursue their chosen paths.
