At Lotus Campaign, we are proving that homelessness is not inevitable. It is a solvable problem when we bring together unexpected allies across real estate, social services, and philanthropy.

In 2025 alone, your support allowed us to:

💛 Help more than 379 people secure and maintain stable housing, a 44% increase since 2024.
💛 Partner with 22 landlord partners across 76 properties in two cities, expanding access to market-rate housing for those who are often locked out.
💛 Ensure that 94% of our sponsored residents secure their own housing within two years, creating long-term stability, not temporary solutions.

That is not just charity. That is a proven, scalable solution. And it is also one of the most cost-effective approaches to solving homelessness.

We kicked off our Spring Campaign, Unlocking Stability, at Lotus Campaign yesterday!

We unlock housing that already exists by partnering with landlords and social service organizations.

In 2025, that meant 379 individuals and families housed and approximately 90% housing retention.

Real solutions to homelessness take real partnership 💛

Since 2023, York Properties has gone beyond being a landlord 🏠 they’ve become a true partner in Lotus Campaign’s mission. At their Mission Valley site, 42 Lotus-supported residents have been housed to date, with 22 individuals currently thriving in 16 units.

What started as providing housing has evolved into something bigger. York Properties, Inc. saw the impact up close and leaned in, becoming both a housing partner and a philanthropic supporter to help scale the work.

“We saw Lotus in action,” says George York, President and CEO of York Properties. “It became clear to us that their model works. York Properties can only do so much by providing units, so we also give to Lotus to help expand their impact in the community.”

This is the Lotus model in action: connecting landlords, social services, and community partners to not just place people into housing, but support them in staying there.

Living proof that partnerships in the public and private sector can change lives! 💛

After decades of instability, Dennis rebuilt his rental history and credit through Lotus. After three years at Amber Lakes apartments, he moved into a three-bedroom home in Idlewild, working two jobs and paying his rent independently.

“I’m fixing up my house and turning it into a home. It’s hard for me to believe that within six years, I went from nothing to what I have today. I tell my story because I know there’s another Dennis out there. I owe so much to Hope Haven, Charlotte Rescue Mission, Amber Lakes, and Lotus.”

It’s not just about housing 🏠
It’s about proximity to opportunity 💛

At Lotus Campaign, we intentionally place families in neighborhoods of opportunity — near strong schools, jobs, transit, and everyday amenities. And the data backs it up.

Our housing placements are in areas that are:
• 15% more walkable
• 2x the employment density
• 13% higher on the EPA Smart Location Index
• Lower on the Area Deprivation Index

This is why we built our own custom dashboard to track this data, looking at both demographics as well as impacts by social service partners and landlords.

This allows us to see the location of our housing opportunities and ensure that we are meeting that mission of moving people into not just housing but neighborhoods that will contribute to the long term success and stability of each resident and their family.

A partner worthy of the name!

Over the past two years, BR Apartments has worked closely with Lotus Campaign to house at least ten households, with families of varying sizes and circumstances.

Yazmin Figueroa, property manager for three Raleigh properties, sees the impact firsthand. “This partnership gives people a second chance,” she says. “Many of our Lotus-sponsored residents wouldn’t be approved in a traditional marketplace. We look beyond that. These residents are grateful, they take care of their homes, and they pay their rent on time.”

Importantly, Lotus residents are treated like every other tenant. “No one knows who they are, and that’s the point,” Yazmin explains. “They’re still supported by social service agencies, but here, they’re residents just like all of our other residents.

”One Lotus resident recently completed their annual certification, officially graduated from the program, and chose to remain in their BR apartment. For Leah and her team, that’s the ultimate outcome. “Lotus has done 100% of what they’re supposed to do. The residents have done 100% of what they’re supposed to do.”

Yazmin adds, “Anytime we have a unit available, Lotus is the first call I make.”
