In honor of , we’re spotlighting photographers in our Charlotte Arts Center day program! 📸

Participants have spent the summer sharpening their photography skills during weekly classes at McGill Rose Garden. Through hands-on learning with The Photo Classroom, they’ve gained experience with basic camera functions and techniques while capturing the world through their own unique perspectives!

As we recognize today, we celebrate how photography is more than just taking pictures. It’s a powerful tool for self-expression, communication, skill-building and meaningful social connection. 🧡

Today is , a day to celebrate the incredible community that makes our mission possible. 💙

For 68 years, we’ve worked to expand access to compassionate, person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), mental illness, substance use disorders and traumatic brain injury across North Carolina.

To the individuals and families who trust us with their care, our dedicated staff who lead with compassion, our donors who invest in hope and healing, and our community partners who help extend our reach: thank you!

Because of your support, we’re able to expand resources and create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. Together, we are building stronger communities where all people can achieve their unique potential.

At 6 years old, Julia loves playing dress-up, arts and crafts and spending time with friends. Before receiving services, struggles with frequent meltdowns, difficulty following directions and challenges both at home and at school made it difficult for Julia to enjoy the activities that she loved.

With the support of Monarch Healthcare’s services, she has built new skills at home, in school and in her community. Today, Julia has reached grade level academically, strengthened her relationships, learned how to swim and was named one of the best listeners in her class. 👏

Read more about how Monarch Healthcare’s Tailored Care Management (TCM), Community Living Services (CLS) and Respite Services supported Julia’s progress at monarchnc.org/how-support-is-helping-julia-grow-at-home-and-school. 💚
