Will post an update soon. It looks like the demolition is on hold now based on complaint. Maybe missing minutes of the community in 2021 who wanted the Old Cross Mills Fire Barn saved and accountability for the 13+ years of no maintenance spent on building maintenance The grant had a false narrative , which is a no-no- that stated the people in the community wanted the building demolished. Simply not true...so after the minutes confirmed the community wanted the building saved, the complaints were filed . Now that they were trying to get the funds to demolish the building $610,000 from the HUD grant, they have been delayed because of the complaint. HUD denied the Fire District the funding as they did not have the land use authority....the Town is trying to cover, but that has not been public and contradicts what the Town said before, that they did not want the building, perhaps, that might work, as long as we can lobby to get the close to one million dollars and then use the money to fix the building. It states up to one million $. That can go a LONG WAY! More later..
