In partnership with Chatham County Parks and Recreation, Safe Kids Chatham hosted a two part series water confidence class at Jordan Lake State Park. We had tons of interest and lots of participation not only from Chatham County residents but also those in nearby counties. A big thank you to our volunteer SOFtoSOM instructors, David and Carsten, North Chatham Volunteer Fire Department, North Carolina State Parks and Recreation, and our Safe Kids members Mallory, Elaine, and Ingrid.

Safe Kids Chatham member, Andrea Smith, hosted our hot car awareness display outside of the Siler City Police Department....the inside of the vehicle reached 165 degrees after just a few hours. A reminder of how dangerous our vehicles can get in these summer months.

The hot temperatures are back! The inside of this car reached over a 100 degrees in under 30 minutes yesterday in the Wren Library parking lot in Siler City. Tip: Leave your purse or wallet in the back seat to remind you that kids are riding along in the back.
