That’s a wrap! This Halloween, we got to spend the spookiest day of the year with our amazing dancers! We dressed up, listened to spooky songs, opened goodie bags, and played pretend. Thanks to Carolina Performing Arts and Creative Futures, we were able to give goodie bags that included a pair of brand new ballet shoes for each student, a tutu, journal, water bottle, pair of Empower socks, and, of course, candy! This has been the experience of a life time and allowed us to share the joy of ballet with our young dancers and fall in love with it all over again ourselves. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped this vision come to life, including Empower Dance Studio, Carolina Performing Arts and Duke Gardens!
Finally, a personal note: 9 years to the day before we had our last Fall Dance Series Halloween class on 10/30, I was having my very own first performance to Monster Mash wearing my kitty ears at nine years old, the same age as many of the dancers in our class!
