5 kittens were dumped in a carrier at our local PetSmart adoption center today💔🥺
These sweet little ones were completely infested with fleas and have upper respiratory infections which they’re now on medication for. As a small foster based rescue, unexpected intakes like this put a heavy strain on us, as we often have to scramble to find quarantine space and a foster home for them. Many people would say “well at least they left them somewhere safe”, which is true but unfortunately still very unfair to small rescues like us.
We have an intake process for a reason. We are NOT an open-admission public shelter. We do not have unlimited space, fosters, funding, or resources.
That is not fair to our volunteers, fosters, or the animals already in our care.
