🌍 Today, Cohort 1 begins.

High school students in Arizona are now real climate researchers β€” investigating urban heat in Maryvale, western Phoenix. University students from Bangladesh are mentoring them as Teaching Assistants, bridging continents through science.

This is Acumen Haven's Summer Virtual Research Fellowship β€” six weeks of real science, real mentorship, and real impact.
Programs like this grow through partnerships. If your organization is looking for meaningful CSR investment in youth and climate, I'd love to connect. πŸ’š

Thank you to organizations like Philanthropies Earth Fund Foundation Community Foundation Fargo of America Club Foundation Foundation for championing youth climate work. This is the impact your investment creates.

This is just the beginning. 🌱

On June 5, Acumen Haven launches Cohort 1 of our Summer Virtual Research Fellowship.

Students from Arizona high schools will learn to conduct research by investigating real-world climate problems in their own neighborhoods. Cohort 1 focuses on urban heat exposure; fellows will collect geospatial data, apply a validated quantitative methodology, analyze climate equity dimensions, and produce a formal research report.

This is Acumen Haven's flagship program. Every workshop, every document, every late revision led here.

To everyone who believed in this before it existed β€” thank you.

πŸ“ Another meaningful step toward awareness, action, and leadership.

Shishir Kumar Deymondal, Vice Principal from Laurel International School and College, shared their reflections after participating in our Sharak Shathi workshop organized by Acumen Haven.

The workshop focused on the important connection between climate change and road safety β€” two issues that directly impact our everyday lives.

Mr. Shishir highlighted how necessary these programs are, especially at a time when road accidents continue to take hundreds of lives during major holidays. Through this workshop, students learned practical road safety rules, including how to properly follow traffic signals and cross roads safely.

Beyond road safety, the sessions also helped students understand climate change, environmental changes, and how human behavior connects to these challenges.

Most importantly, the workshop created engagement among both students and teachers through discussion, interaction, and real-life examples.

We are deeply grateful to Laurel International School and College for their support, trust, and appreciation. Together, we can build a generation that is more aware, responsible, and ready to create impact.

A big thank you today.
A Junior Environmental Engineer from Onushandhani Creed joined us as a facilitator at our Sharak Shathi workshop β€” and her presence lit up the room. We are honored to have had her with us.
We are also deeply thankful to Onushandhani Creed for sponsoring our first two Sharak Shathi workshops at Dhaka Ideal International School and Laurel International School and College, both of which serve students from underprivileged communities. Because of partners like them, children who might never get climate education are now leading the conversation in their own classrooms.
Do you want to be one of those partners?
Sponsor a workshop. Stand with a school. Create real impact.
Send us a message: [email protected]β€” let's build the next chapter together.

β€œNow I understand how road safety and climate change are connected.” 🌍🚸

Arifah Akter, a tenth-grade student from Dhaka Ideal Cadet School, shared her experience after participating in our Sharak Shathi (Road Companion) workshop.

Through the workshop, students learned about road safety, public awareness, climate change, and weather patterns β€” helping them understand how everyday behavior impacts both people and the planet.

This is why we do Sharak Shathi:
Awareness β†’ Action β†’ Leadership. πŸ’š

What happens when you accidentally step into a drain? πŸ˜„
Our facilitator Aminuzzaman turned that exact moment into a powerful lesson at Sharak Shathi. Students from grades 6–10 at Laurel International School were challenged to list five real safety hazards they face just walking down the street β€” sparking a lively conversation about urban environments, road safety, and climate change.

This is climate education β€” grounded in real life, driven by curiosity and critical thinking, and built for the next generation. πŸ’š
