🚨💜💛 LET’S HAVE A REAL CONVERSATION ABOUT SUPPORT, GRATITUDE, AND TAGGING! 💛💜🚨
First and foremost, THANK YOU to EVERYONE who tagged the Melissa Kalee Lasha Giving Hope Foundation, shared pictures, and showed love after the October 10th game! ❤️ We appreciate those who took the time to acknowledge the organization that helped make these experiences possible.
NOW, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE PART THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE EXPLAINED! 👀
We helped distribute 188 TICKETS TO 48 FAMILIES! Let that sink in. ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT TICKETS. FORTY-EIGHT FAMILIES. And out of those families, only FIVE FAMILIES TAGGED OUR FOUNDATION. FIVE! 🤦🏽♀️
Y’all can post the game, post the food, post the pictures, post the videos, and make sure everybody knows where you were and what a great time you had. But when it comes to tagging the organization that helped make that experience possible, suddenly everybody gets real quiet? 😳
MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE!
Let’s be VERY clear: We are not doing this for applause, recognition, or social media attention. We do this because we love our community, we love seeing children smile, and we believe families deserve opportunities to create beautiful memories regardless of their circumstances.
BUT LET’S NOT CONFUSE OUR KINDNESS WITH AN OBLIGATION!
We are a nonprofit organization. We put time, effort, resources, and work into finding opportunities for families. We reach out to businesses, build relationships with sponsors, and work hard to make things happen. These opportunities do not simply fall out of the sky!
And while we are more than happy to give back, COMMUNITY SUPPORT HAS TO BE A TWO-WAY STREET!
📢 HERE IS WHY TAGGING US MATTERS:
💜 It helps MORE families discover our foundation and the opportunities we provide.
💛 It shows businesses and sponsors that their donations are making a REAL impact.
💜 It helps us build credibility and stronger relationships with future community partners.
💛 It gives us a better chance of securing MORE tickets, MORE donations, MORE family activities, and MORE opportunities for the community.
💜 It helps us continue doing what we LOVE: GIVING HOPE AND CREATING MEMORIES!
SO YES, THAT SIMPLE TAG MATTERS! It takes seconds, but those seconds can help us open doors for hundreds of other people in the future.
Our sponsors deserve to see the impact of their generosity. Our community deserves to know where these opportunities come from. And our foundation deserves the opportunity to grow so we can continue serving families.
WE CANNOT KEEP ASKING BUSINESSES TO POUR INTO OUR COMMUNITY IF WE ARE NOT WILLING TO HELP SHOW THEM THE DIFFERENCE THEY ARE MAKING! 💯
And to the families who were on the list but did not receive tickets, we understand the disappointment. We truly wish we could provide opportunities for everybody. Unfortunately, resources are limited, and that is exactly why visibility, engagement, and community partnerships are so important.
Moving forward, we will be more intentional about how opportunities are distributed and will prioritize building relationships with families who actively engage with and support our foundation's mission. We want to grow a community where support goes BOTH WAYS.
❤️🔥 NOW, ABOUT THE OCTOBER 16TH GAMES!
If you would like to be considered for tickets, text “YES” to express your interest. Selected families will receive their tickets 24–48 hours before the games. Please remember that tickets are LIMITED, and expressing interest does not guarantee that you will receive them.
And let’s get one thing straight: Nobody is entitled to free tickets. These are opportunities we work hard to secure, and we are grateful to be able to share them. We will never force anyone to post, tag, or participate. But we absolutely will encourage our community to help spread the word about the organization working to create these opportunities.
IF YOU APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY, HELP US MAKE MORE OPPORTUNITIES POSSIBLE!
We will continue to serve. We will continue to give. We will continue to show up for our families. But we are also paying attention to the engagement, support, and community relationships that help keep this mission alive.
Because at the end of the day, YOU CANNOT EXPECT A COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION TO KEEP POURING INTO THE COMMUNITY WHILE THE COMMUNITY REFUSES TO HELP SPREAD THE WORD! ❤️🔥
