Today, we remember Dolly Parton! A singular artist whose wit, warmth and gift for storytelling transcended every musical boundary.

From “Coat of Many Colors” to “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You,” Dolly wrote melodies that felt deeply personal yet somehow belonged to everyone. Her generosity, authenticity and unmistakable sparkle made the world brighter.

Her connection to Colorado will live on, too. Two of her dazzling stage costumes will soon appear in “DIVA” at the Denver Art Museum — a fitting celebration of a woman who understood that glamour could be joyful, powerful and entirely her own.

Thank you for the music, Dolly. We will always love you! 💛

🚨CPR Summerfest alert: Colorado debut of new Esmail work🚨

Hear Reena Esmail’s new Double Concerto this Friday, 5:30 p.m. at the Aspen Music Festival and School. The AMFS co-commissioned this work for siblings Gil Shaham, violin and Orli Shaham, piano. Esmail brings an otherworldly beauty to the intersection of her Indian roots and Western classical music. And check out this brand new work she was also inspired to compose for the brother-sister duo. Esmail’s “surfacing” is due to release in the fall.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for CPR Classical Night at the Colorado Music Festival on Sunday, August 2nd, celebrating 50 seasons this year! It was such a pleasure meeting listeners, listening to wonderful music, sharing hugs and conversations with morning host Kabin Thomas, and introducing so many of you to our newest host, Mario Rivas!

One of the best parts of what we do is getting to connect with this incredible community beyond the airwaves. We are grateful for this wonderful partnership! Thanks for making it such a special evening! We're already looking forward to the next one!

A wonderful visit to the CPR Classical studio today! 🎻 Brilliant violinist Njioma Grevious stopped by to record a few liners ahead of tonight's Colorado Music Festival performance with afternoon host Monique Brooks Roberts. Before she headed to Boulder, there was just enough time for a quick selfie. 📸

This evening, Njioma joins Leonard Slatkin and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra to perform the Chaconne from The Red Violin by John Corigliano at Chautauqua Auditorium. Go to coloradomusicfestival.org for tickets and more information.
