Happy Birthday to our founder Nancy! 🥳💜💚

Nancy is the heart and soul of The Butterfly Foundation—she keeps it moving forward with grit, determination, and pazazz! We couldn’t do any of this without her!!

She started the foundation years ago when she was a reporter covering heart-wrenching stories. As a young reporter with a big heart and little financial assets, she picked one family a year to help. That drive to help others in need formally became The Butterfly Foundation, and since its inception, it has helped hundreds of individuals and families dealing with a crisis or tragedy. 💜💚

Nancy's passion for The Butterfly Foundation drives our mission, events, and fundraising, and puts a sparkle in all we do. Whether it's our annual Putts 4 Patrick tournament honoring her late husband, her on-stage comedy sets, or other micro events, Nancy jumps all in raising funds for Colorado families in need. Her impact is felt in every story and every life touched by The Butterfly Foundation.

💜 When three children needed a safe place to land, Jay and Michelle didn't hesitate — they opened their door.

In a matter of weeks, this couple welcomed three kids (ages 3, 9, and 11) into their home after the children found themselves without a stable parent to care for them. Having already raised their own four children, Jay and Michelle were thrown back into full-time parenting overnight — without any time to prepare. The kids came with no belongings other than the clothes on their backs.

From day one, they've given these children something they desperately needed: routine, stability, and love.

"When we got the call from The Butterfly Foundation, we were beyond grateful that someone took the time to nominate us, as we were racing to get clothes and basically everything, as these kids are staying with us long-term. The Butterfly Foundation jumped into action and helped us get essential items and support for the kids. Thank you, Butterflies!" - Michelle B.

Our Wings of Hope Program provides hope for families like Jay and Michelle's, who answer the call when children need them most.
