The only thing that is guaranteed in the fire service is change. Yesterday was the last day as a crew for 2-A. But change can be good. We would like to congratulate Association President Birdwell on his promotion to Captain as he moves to another station. Association Vice President Mace promoted to Engineer and will remain with the crew while Association Secretary Engineer Morris will be moving to another shift. We also would like to welcome and congratulate Engineer Gilley for his promotion to Lieutenant on 2-A. And last but not least FF Villanueva will also be joining 2-A.You might see some new faces on the west side, but one thing that will never change is our commitment to our citizens.

We’re getting close to ramping up another Rookie Academy for our newly hired members of the Cedar Park Fire Department.

Before they ever hit the truck, every new hire goes through an academy focused on labor-intensive, job-specific skills that set the standard from day one. This is a quick look at some of the work being put in during truck operations training.

We are proud of the effort and excited to welcome more members to the department. The work starts here.

Today, we honor and celebrate the life of our friend Lt. Bobby Vernengo.

Our lobby will be closed from 9am-3pm so our staff can attend his ceremony.

Earlier this year one of our firefighters suffered a serious injury while off duty and is currently going through multiple surgeries so that he can hopefully return to protecting the citizens of Cedar Park. Please take a moment to go to the link and read his story. We understand that money is tight around the holidays, but even a small donation or sharing this post would help immensely.
