What a weekend for Mocha and our Alliance Hounds! 🏆🐾

We're celebrating some pretty exciting news from the Alamo Whippet Club's lure coursing weekend in Comfort, Texas!

Mocha took home First in Specials, Best of Breed, AND Best in Field! 🎉 What makes this even more special? It's been years since a whippet has earned Best in Field, making this a moment worth celebrating!

And the fun didn't stop with Mocha! Four of Mocha and Natasha's puppies joined in the puppy bumps and had a wonderful time getting a taste of the action. Drew and Turbo also did a fantastic job at their very first race!

A big thank you to judges Nicci von Broembsen, Sami Hirko, and Andrea Stone for being part of such a memorable weekend.

We're also grateful for the continued support of our friends at Austin Subaru who help make our work at The Dog Alliance possible. ❤️

Big adventures for little paws! 🐾❤️

Meet Toby and Latter, two of our adorable 9-week-old whippet puppies who recently took a little field trip to !

At this age, the world is full of new sights, sounds, smells, and experiences. Outings like this give our puppies a chance to explore different environments, meet new people, and start building confidence in unfamiliar places.

And with so much happening around them, from new faces to a giant Ferris wheel, there was certainly plenty to take in! 🎡🐶

These little adventures are an important part of helping our puppies grow into happy, confident, well-adjusted dogs. Of course, a few cuddles along the way never hurt either! ❤️

Meet Tigger, our red brindle Whippet puppy looking for his forever home! 🐾

He’s one of the calmest pups in his litter and loves being close to his people. Confident, playful, and a total snuggler. He gets along great with people and other dogs. Oh, and those two different colored eyes? Just extra charm. His eyesight is perfectly normal.
Tigger could be your hiking buddy, agility star, couch companion, or even a future therapy or service dog.

Before going home, Tigger will have:
✅ A full vet exam (his 8-week exam showed no health risks)
✅ Deworming and all age-appropriate vaccines
✅ Normal BAER hearing test
✅ AKC registration, included in his adoption fee

Both of his parents completed breed-recommended health testing and earned CHIC numbers.

A bookstore outing with the cutest little study buddy. 📚🐾

Our puppy raiser Amarilis shared these photos of Cleo, one of our 4-month-old Lab puppies, practicing new skills at a local bookstore. On the agenda: meeting new people and learning to stay focused when there’s plenty to investigate!

Amarilis worked with bookstore staff to make the visit a supportive experience for Cleo, giving her time and space to learn at her own pace. These everyday outings are an important part of growing up for a future service dog, and we’re grateful for the care our puppy raisers put into them. 🧡

Some heroes have floppy ears. Boomer is one of them. 🧡🐾

If you’ve ever had a tough day feel a little lighter after spending time with a dog, you’ll understand why therapy dog visits can mean so much.

Dogs like Boomer give people a chance to pause, share a little affection, and enjoy some company without having to find the right words. Sometimes that visit brings a smile. Sometimes it starts a conversation. Sometimes it’s simply a quiet moment with a soft head to pet.

Behind each visit is a dog and handler who have practiced and prepared together. We’re grateful for our therapy dog teams and the care they bring to people in our community.

Those little paws had some growing to do. 🥹

Swipe through to see this sweet Lab grow from a tiny puppy into a service dog. The face gets a little older, the legs get a lot longer, and we find ourselves wondering how they grew up so fast.

Between these photos are so many moments you don’t see: playtime, new experiences, patient practice, and people who helped along the way. Puppy raisers, volunteers, and trainers all have a part in that journey.

Now those once-tiny paws have an important job to do. We’re so proud to have been part of their story. 🧡

Sometimes, the kindest way to show a dog some love is to let them work. 🧡

If you’re a dog lover, we know how tempting it is to say hello to a service dog. But even a quick whistle, a treat, or “Who’s a good dog?” can pull their attention away from the person who needs them.

Giving the team space and letting the dog stay focused is a simple way to support them. And if you’d like to say hello, talk to their person just as you would anyone else. There’s no need to ask about their disability or what their dog does for them.

You can admire those sweet faces without getting their attention. That’s showing them love, too. 🐾

Share this with a fellow dog lover. A little understanding can make everyday outings easier for service dog teams.

Puppies are fun!

Big sister Amara is right in the middle of playtime, and the pups are doing their best to keep up! A little chase, a little tug, and plenty of room to zoom.

We could watch these backyard adventures all evening. Hope this little glimpse of our crew makes you smile, too. 🧡

A regular trip to the store. A chance to practice something new.

Jennifer and Shiloh are working together on a new task: providing balance support. Taking that training into everyday places gives them a chance to practice beyond the classroom, with all the sights, sounds, and distractions that come with it.

We love seeing our teams make progress together. Each new skill takes time and practice from both ends of the leash, and we’re proud of the work these two are putting in. 🧡

Let’s give Jennifer and Shiloh a little encouragement as they keep learning together!
