Why do our GHCA girls love hockey? 💙🏒

Because it’s more than a game. It’s friendships built in locker rooms, laughter between games, and moments like these- creating, connecting, and just being kids together. It’s confidence, teamwork, and a place where they truly belong.

What a weekend!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our GHCA weekend so special—we loved getting all the girls together. It was definitely overdue, and the energy did not disappoint!

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, both on and off the ice. These events simply don’t happen without you, and we’re so grateful for your time and support.

And shoutout to our incredible bands, Wavelength and Eightball, for bringing the vibes all weekend long—you guys rocked it! 🎶

We can’t wait to keep building on this momentum and create even more opportunities like this as girls hockey continues to grow in Austin and the surrounding areas.

GHCA Spring Sessions are officially underway- don’t miss your chance to get in on the action!

This 10-week all-girls power skating and skills camp is built for players ready to level up. Each session is packed with focused training on power skating, shooting, puck handling, scoring, defense, and competitive contact. Players are grouped by age and skill to make sure everyone is challenged and improving every week.

Dates: March 23 – May 31
Birth Years: 2008–2016
Cost: $350

Ice and Field at The Crossover
7:15–8:15 PM

📍 Fridays
The Pond Hockey Club
5:45–6:45 PM
(Exception: May 18th | 5:15–6:15 PM)

Join the Girls Hockey Club of Austin for Girls Try Hockey for Free Day at The Crossover! Whether your athlete is brand new or just curious about the game, this is the perfect, low-pressure way to give hockey a try.

🗓 Sunday, May 3rd
⏰ On Ice: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Check-in starts at 10:30 AM)

💙 What to expect:
• On-ice instruction from experienced coaches
• A fun, welcoming, all-girls environment
• Intro to skating and hockey basics

🧤 What to bring:
• A helmet (any kind works!)
• Gloves or mittens
• Warm clothes

No experience needed- just show up ready to have fun and try the coolest sport on Earth!

Mark your calendars for May 2nd–3rd at Ice & Field at The Crossover, it’s time for an incredible weekend dedicated to growing the girls game!

The GHCA Girl’s Hockey Weekend is open to all girls, and registration includes a jersey!

This high-energy, all-girls experience focuses on skill development, confidence, and leadership, both on and off the ice. Here’s what’s included:

✨ 1 on-ice skills session in an all-girls training environment
✨ Off-ice training + Hockey IQ session
✨ 3 games against same age/skill players for fun and development
✨ Advanced coaching in a supportive, empowering setting
✨ Free concert at featuring Eightball and Wavelength

But that’s not all…

Players will also learn basic “How to Coach” skills and then put them into action by helping during the Try Hockey For Free for Girls event! It’s an amazing opportunity to grow as athletes and leaders while giving back to the next generation of players.

Today we’re celebrating the fierce females who lead, inspire, and pave the way for the next generation of players in our program. Your passion, dedication, and love for the game make such a powerful impact both on and off the ice.

We are so lucky to have so many incredible women in our organization who give their time, knowledge, and heart to our athletes every single day. Thank you for being role models, leaders, and difference-makers for our players.

Start Heart Month 2026 with a FREE Heart Screening for your teenager(s)! We are screening teens, ages 14-18, THIS Saturday, February 7th at Dell Children’s Specialty Pavilion from 9AM - 1PM. Thank you to Dell Children’s Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology for hosting this important screening.

The screening tests are non-invasive and painless, and take just a few minutes. Over the past 26 years, we have screened almost 32,000 Texas teens: identifying conditions known to cause sudden cardiac arrest, and helping avoid tragedies for many. Register now for an arrival time on 2/7!
