Our very warm thank you to Brenda Sandquist of Xquisite for presenting to our Soroptimist group on the activities of Xquisite and the many ways they support people coming out of trafficking situations. Brenda also filled us in on some of the current trends and changes seen in trafficking today. HEAT Arrests Substitute Teacher in Child Luring Investigation:

Case Number: 26-19012

HEAT detectives arrested Stephen Bolin, 38, on September 30, 2026, following an investigation into luring a child under 16 with the use of a computer.

HEAT’s investigation revealed Bolin engaged in s*xual communications with a person he believed was a 15-year-old female on social media and made plans to take her to his residence without her parents’ or guardians’ knowledge or consent.

Detectives identified Bolin as a Washoe County School District substitute teacher and a photographer in the Washoe County area. Coordinating with the Washoe County School District Police Department. HEAT arrested him without incident before the school day at a local school campus.

HEAT appreciates the cooperation and strong working relationship with the Washoe County School District and the Washoe County School District Police Department. Protecting children in our community is our highest priority.

Suspect: Stephen Bolin, 38 years old

Charge: Luring a child under 16 with the use of a computer

HEAT respectfully asks anyone who may have been victimized by Bolin, or who has information about other potential victims, to come forward. Our embedded victim advocates are available to provide support and connect victims with resources.

HEAT is a regional task force comprised of Detectives from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, and Washoe County School District Police Department. The unit investigates human exploitation and s*x trafficking throughout Northern Nevada.

Xquisite has founded multidisciplinary team of passionate community leaders alongside the Carson City Sheriff’s Office to be an active presence against s*xual violence in Northern Nevada. We toured Carson Tahoe Hospital’s Youth Crisis Intervention Center and began meaningful conversations on how we can support their work with youth in crisis.

It was an honor to hear AG Aaron Ford, and gubernatorial candidate to hear his passion, commitment and considerations for survivors. Xquisite also had the privilege of joining amazing organizations doing powerful work on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, s*xual assault, and human trafficking in Nevada.
