In April, local Indivisibles in Twin Falls, Idaho learned that ICE transfer and deportation flights were operating out of Magic Valley Regional Airport, disappearing immigrants with no due process.

Soon after, Indivisible Twin Falls County Idaho began observing and monitoring the flights. They have recorded more than 500 people detained by ICE flown out of the airport, bearing witness to Trump’s deportation and detention machine firsthand. In some cases, the group’s records have allowed lawyers and family members to locate their client or loved one.

A new database to monitor backlash to Flock and other automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras shows that as of this week, more than 100 local governments across the US have canceled or declined to renew their city’s Flock or other ALPR contracts since 2025.

These victories belong to local activists — including Indivisible groups! — in every corner of the country. Anti-Flock actions have brought communities together across the aisle to form nonpartisan coalitions committed to rejecting the encroaching threat of mass surveillance and the desecration of our civil liberties.

As if tracking and logging our daily movements wasn’t horrifying enough, Flock cameras threaten more than our privacy: ICE has used local law enforcement to access Flock data to target immigrants, and police officers have used ALPRs to stalk and harass partners and ex-partners. These cameras do not belong on our streets — the last year has proved that anti-Flock organizers are a force to be reckoned with.

Every Flock camera removed or contract canceled is a big win for transparency and civil liberties. Want to brush up on what ALPRs are and how to fight them? Learn more here.

The House is back in session today after the August recess, and the Senate will follow after Labor Day. Don’t expect too much news from the House except for a stopgap to fund the government until the midterms — but when the Senate returns, it’ll be all hands on deck to block the CLARITY Act, the toothless crypto “regulation” bill that would do nothing to rein in Trump’s crypto corruption.

Even though Trump made $1.4 billion from the crypto industry in 2025 alone, the CLARITY Act breezed through the House last year with support from 78 Dems. Public outcry and advocacy toxified the bill enough that the Senate couldn’t pass it before they left for the August recess — but now a vote is expected as early as September 15.

So, what can we do? First, keep calling your US senators to demand they reject the CLARITY Act. Then, level up your crypto education with our friend Ben McKenzie’s documentary, “Everyone Is Lying to You for Money,” which you can watch at a discounted cost here with code IND50.

After a membership vote, Indivisible Carson City is excited to announce our endorsement of Teresa Benitez-Thompson for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District!

“Benitez-Thompson’s work as a social worker, mom, community leader, and Majority Leader of the Nevada State Assembly embodies the values Indivisible groups are committed to holding our elected officials accountable to: equality, justice, compassion, inclusion, and the protection of our democracy,” said Indivisible Carson City Leader, Kelly Bennett Unger, “We believe she will carry those values to Washington.”

Last week, thanks to massive public outcry, the Trump regime paused construction on their border wall expansion in Big Bend National Park.

When footage surfaced online showing excavators and bulldozers tearing apart the park — the latest example of Trump’s heinous desecration of public lands in service of anti-immigrant cruelty — a flood of opposition forced CBP’s hand.

Unsurprisingly, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tried to take credit for the pause, but we know this victory belongs to a broad bipartisan coalition of local activists, conservationists, landowners, elected officials, and more.

While this is great news for now, the fight to protect Big Bend isn’t over. CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott paused further construction so he could visit the park and talk to stakeholders himself (seems like that would have been a good idea before destroying public land), but advocates won’t rest until the contracts are canceled and the project is scrapped for good.

Nearly one year ago, the Trump regime launched a full-fledged federal occupation of Memphis, sending masked ICE agents and National Guard troops to flood the streets.

Since that time, organizers on the ground have built mutual aid and support networks, including Indivisible Memphis’ Immigrant Pantry, which delivers food and household supplies to immigrant families facing food insecurity, family separation due to ICE raids and deportation, and other barriers to accessing groceries and essential items.

Doubling down on their cruelty, earlier this August, the Department of Justice announced a grant program that would split hundreds of millions of dollars among four cities that follow the “Memphis Safe Task Force” model of aggressive policing. Memphis organizers have built a robust infrastructure that activists in other cities facing federal assaults can adopt and adapt — including Indivisible Memphis’ work to create and sustain the Immigrant Pantry.

Here’s what Indivisible Memphis members and pantry volunteers had to say about their work:

“What started with a few people, some groceries, and a determination to help has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. We’ve now made thousands of deliveries and provided food and basic necessities to thousands of our neighbors. Behind every one of those numbers is a family, a parent trying to keep food on the table, a child who deserves to feel safe, or someone trying to get through an incredibly uncertain moment with a little dignity…

Following major primary elections, there were major points of unison and advancement in the Democratic party.

After a bruising Michigan primary, Mallory McMorrow stood on stage with primary winner Abdul El-Sayed to unify their coalitions, and runner-up Haley Stevens endorsed him and defended it on Fox News: “That’s called democracy.” Gracious winners and losers all around!

When asked if there’s a place in the Democratic Party for democratic socialists, Senator Chris Van Hollen gave a straightforward answer — “Yes.” We’re a big tent, so go show up and vote for us in November regardless of which wing you support.

New reporting shows Robert Garcia and Jamie Raskin — the future chairs of powerful committees should Democrats win the House — are deep into planning an aggressive investigation strategy. What clear opposition! What clear contrast with this corrupt, rubber-stamping MAGA Congress!
