Guests are welcome! You must be 18 years or older to attend a Toastmasters club.

Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. Please feel welcome to reach out to us if you have any questions.

🏆 Two ribbons for his very first speech! 🎤

Congratulations to Toghrul Sideifzada, who delivered his Icebreaker this week and earned BOTH Best Icebreaker AND Best Speaker

His debut took the room on a whirlwind tour of his heritage, from the Ottoman Empire to the Soviet Union to his home country of Azerbaijan, blending history, geography, and wonderfully timed humor along the way. And his closing line brought the house down: “From a place where I couldn’t complain, to a country where I can complain as long as I want.”

This is what courage looks like: stepping up to the microphone for the very first time and giving it everything. Every great speaker started exactly here.

Way to go, Toghrul! We’re so proud. 💙💛

🏆 BEST TABLE TOPICS | DEVIN BLACKBURN
What happens when one person sees the potential nobody else does? 💙

Handed a surprise question with no time to prepare, Devin shared something real. He told us about his junior year of high school, a time when he was failing nearly every class and showing up mostly for his friends and his clarinet.

Then a teacher, an administrator, really, did something no one else had done for him: she gave him options. She told him about a test that could open a different door for his future. He took it, he passed, and his entire path changed for the better.

As he put it, she was a visionary in his life, someone who offered him the options nobody else had.

That’s the beauty of Table Topics. With no script and only a moment to think, Devin reminded the whole room just how much one person can change a life.

Meet this week’s Table Topics Master, Grecia Binder, the member who keeps us on our toes with surprise questions and no warning.

Table Topics is where real confidence is built. There’s no script and no prep, just you, a question, and a minute or two to think on your feet. It’s one of the best exercises in the whole meeting.

And a great Table Topics Master does more than ask questions. She leads the room, draws out everyone’s best, and keeps the energy high. On a night all about leadership, that’s exactly the point. 👑✨

🎤 Who evaluates the entire meeting? The General Evaluator. 👀

This week, Ryan Stangl (PM2) stepped into one of the most important roles in the room. While individual evaluators focus on a single speech, the General Evaluator watches the whole meeting, the timing, the energy, the flow, and how every member performed their part, then offers feedback that helps the whole club grow.

On a night all about leadership, it couldn’t be a better fit. Because great leaders don’t just focus on the moment in front of them. They see the bigger picture. 👁️✨

🎤 Ever notice how many times you say “um”? We do. 👀😂

Meet this week’s Ah-Counter, Chloe Allred, the member who listens for every “um,” “uh,” “like,” and “so” throughout the meeting.

It might sound nit-picky, but it’s one of the most valuable roles in the room. Becoming aware of those filler words is how speakers go from sounding nervous to sounding polished and confident.

Because the best speakers don’t rush to fill the silence. They learn to own it. ✨

That’s just one of the many skills we practice every Wednesday at Club 47. 💙💛

🏆 BEST EVALUATOR | HENRY HELLER

What does truly great feedback sound like? 🎤

This week, Henry Heller earned Best Evaluator, and it’s easy to see why. Evaluating Ryan Ng’s speech “The Turn,” his third project in the Persuasive Influence Pathway, Henry gave a perfect example of how to encourage a speaker while helping them grow.

He began with genuine praise: Ryan’s engaging smile, his clarity of voice, his great sense of humor, and the questions he used to draw the audience in. Then Henry offered specific, actionable coaching. When Ryan spoke about his wife, Henry suggested a subtle change in voice to bring that character to life. And when Ryan described pacing the floor to practice, Henry pointed out he could have actually paced, giving the visual learners in the room something to see, not just hear.

That’s the art of a great evaluation: not simply “good job,” but “here’s exactly how to be even better.”

On a night all about leadership, Henry reminded us that the best leaders lift up everyone around them. 💙💛

What would you say in your very first speech? 🎤

This week, Toghrul Sideifzada delivered his Icebreaker, the first speech in every Toastmaster’s journey, and he made it unforgettable.

Toghrul took the room on a whirlwind tour of his heritage, from the Ottoman Empire to the Soviet Union to his home country of Azerbaijan, weaving in geography, history, and perfectly timed humor along the way. (He even taught us that the “sea” he grew up near is technically a lake!)

But it was his closing line that had the whole room laughing and cheering: “That was my journey, from a place where I couldn’t complain, to a country where I can complain as long as I want.”

That’s what a first speech can be: brave, funny, personal, and completely his own. Every great speaker started right here, with speech number one.

Way to go, Toghrul! 🎤👏
