Warrior Ranch was mentioned on “a big stage” last night as long time volunteer, Deb Rothwell, received the “Be Cowboy” award from Horse Soldier in conjunction with PBR (Professional Bull Riders) at last night’s bull riding event at the UBS Arena. Horse Solider has been a generous supporter of Warrior Ranch over the years.

Thank you so much to those who came out to support our veterans and first responders at our 3rd Wh***ey and War Stories event with Horse Soldier, Bob Pennington. The crowd was drawn in by Bob’s tale of what it was like to be among the first troops deployed to Afghanistan in response to the 9/11 attacks, and his experience as a soldier fighting on horseback through the mountainous terrain. We also learned about Horse Soldier Bourbon, started by Bob and the other 11 horse soldiers, and enjoyed a tasting of 3 different pours. Each guest was happy to take home an autographed bottle, signed by Bob. It was an amazing night!

Today we remember, Warrior, the horse who started it all. Although he had a rough history himself, he was able to break through years of trauma and provide healing comfort to veterans who could easily relate to him. He laid the foundation for healing that has now touched over 600 veterans and first responders to date. Well done, Warrior! You certainly earned your wings 5 years ago, and your memory will live on.
