All of us at LIDA would like to wish you all a Happy Labor day. Let us remember all those who have toiled endlessly to build this country - horses were a big part of that dream. From plowing a field, building the railroad and teaching us how to ride. Let us not forget them.

Well the torrential rain on Saturday did not deter competitors from putting their best foot in the stirrup and turn up to show.

A huge thank you to the crew at Thunder Road Stables (Debbie & Steve) who valiantly tried to drain the puddles that lingered in the arena to help us get ready for the show.

There was a slight delay while we set up the ring and Steve pumped out the standing water. Thanks to Eric & Joann for bringing the poles and letters and for their labor.

We were thrilled to have Stephen Hayes as our judge. He really made each rider feel at ease and his positive comments after each ride were well received. We hope he will join us again.

Thanks to all our riders who absolutely made it a great day. We could not do it without your support and we look forward to see you at our next show in September.

Third Level riders coming down centerline starting Dec. 1 of this year will face a big change in the tack permitted at the level. After a rule change proposal was passed at the U.S. Equestrian Federation’s mid-year meeting in June, double bridles will no longer be allowed. Instead, riders will be able to compete with two bits for the first time at Fourth Level.
