NYLT is coming up soon, National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experiences they can use in their home troops, teams, crews, personal lives, and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.
Troop and Crew Leaders- Get your Youth Leaders and Future Youth Leaders trained, you'll be glad you did!
Who Can Attend:
Scouts BSA:

NYLT is for you if you can answer yes to all of the following:

You will be 13 years old by March 27, 2020.

You will not be 18 years old before March 27, 2020.

You will be at least a First Class Scout by March 27, 2020.

You now hold or would like to hold a unit leadership position.

You are mature and responsible enough to spend 6 days camping ** with other scouts you’ve never met, with minimal adult supervision, while living the Scout Oath and Law.

You agree to practice the skills you learn at NYLT when you return to your home unit; AND

Your parents and Unit Leader agree and recommend you.

Venturing

NYLT is for you if you can answer yes to all of the following:

You will not be 21 years old before March 27, 2020.

You have completed either Crew Officer Training or Venturing Leadership Skills Course or Introduc-tion to Leadership Skills for Crews.

You are mature enough and responsible enough to spend 6 days camping** with other scouts you’ve never met, with minimal adult supervision, while living the Venturing Oath and Law.

You agree to practice the skills you learn at NYLT when you return to your home unit, AND

Your parents and Unit Leader agree and recommend you.

** The Course Leaders will work with you in advance if you do not have extensive camping skills.

The Spring National Youth Leadership Training Course is fast approaching! The next Suffolk County NYLT course will run from April 12-14 and April 26-28, 2019 at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp.
The youth participants will learn invaluable leadership skills that they will apply immediately as well as take with them throughout their lives.
Please mark your calendars and watch for updates on registration.
The entire staff is preparing for and looking forward to seeing the next group join the ranks of trained youth leaders!

Tomorrow we will wrap up training the next group of amazing participants to be better leaders in their units, homes, schools, and jobs. They have acquired many new tools to assist them on their paths to achieve future success!
Did a youth you know miss this course? We’re back here in April!

Weekend 2 of the Spring 2018 course starts this Friday. The youth staff will continue to shine while bringing out more leadership skills in our participants.
If you missed it this time around, we’ll be back in August to train more youth and help them become better leaders also!

Wrapping up weekend one here at Baiting Hollow. Our youth are on their way to becoming better leaders in their units and in their lives.
