We had a smashing good time with Brent Nichols from the Burnet County Rodeo Association this week! Brent stopped in to talk about the fall BCRA Demolition Derby taking place on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 at the Burnet County Fairgrounds. A good time for a good cause! Lisa Lockhart has made rodeo history with a record 20th consecutive National Finals Rodeo qualification.

The longtime WPRA standout passed Charmayne James and Sherry Cervi, who each reached 19 straight NFR qualifications. Lockhart joined the WPRA in 1993 and has won NFR money on eight different horses during her career.

Her most successful partner, An Oakie With Cash, better known as “Louie,” earned just under $1 million with her at the NFR and more than $1.9 million in reported career earnings.

Twenty straight trips to the NFR place Lisa Lockhart in a class of her own among barrel racing’s most consistent competitors.
