Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association

Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association We are volunteers who work in cooperation with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service to promote horticultural education programs in the Burnet County area.

The Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association (HLMGA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization serving Burnet and surrounding counties. Community service and education is at the core of the HLMGA program, which is a part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. HLMGA has been active since 1998 providing educational and enrichment programs such as the Hill Country Lawn & Garden Show, Marble Fal

ls Helping Center Garden and the Burnet Farmer and Crafts Market. Volunteers also are active in supporting youth programs through the Junior Master Gardeners program and school greenhouse projects in Burnet and Marble Falls. Master gardeners are certified by completing a training program and 50 hours of community service. Once a member, annual recertification is obtained through continuing education and volunteerism. Master gardeners love to share their knowledge and put it to practical use year-round through hands-on volunteerism, presentations and informational articles.
