🌞 Heat Safety Reminder ❗️
With today's temperatures forecasted to hit over 103 degrees in the bottom of the canyon, it's important to plan your hiking trip ahead of time. Please hydrate - bring at least one gallon of water per hiker. We recommend avoiding the trails between 11am - 5pm when the temperatures peak.

Just like this ornate box turtle, take a moment to rest and stay cool! Your safety is our priority.

💥LBJ State Park & Historical Site ~ Texas Parks and Wildlife

Starting tomorrow, the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm at LBJ State Park will have new summer hours. Stop by any day of the week between 9AM and 3PM to visit our farm. These summer hours will continue from June 1st through September 30th. The state park Visitor Center will maintain normal operating hours of 8AM to 4PM. Thanks!

💥 Purtis Creek State Park Texas Parks and Wildlife

Last week at the park, 15 people were certified as Angler Ed Instructors! We had staff from the park, a State Park Police Officer, staff from John Bunker Sands Wetlands center, the founder of Reel Ladies of Fort Worth, teachers and others! Everyone learned more about adaptive gear for people with disabilities as displayed by park staff! Thank you to Keira from Texas Parks and Wildlife - Texas Angler Educators for putting on this amazing workshop for us!

💥LBJ State Park and Historical Site ~ Texas Parks and Wildlife

📣‼️Park Host availability alert!‼️📣

We currently have two host sites vacant for the summer through December this year.

Come volunteer with us and stay in an RV campsite for FREE. All you need to do is complete 24 hours of service a week for three months. This time can be split between a couple. We are specifically looking for someone to help out in the visitor center and gift shop. We also have availability with our maintenance team.

🦋From learning how to find your first geocache, celebrating pollinators by building your own butterfly, and looking (safely) at the sun on the longest day of the year, there is something for everyone!
