When we talk about Restorative Practices (RP) in schools, we often focus on the mechanics: the circles, the prompts, and the repair plans. But looking back on a school visit prior to COVID, Lisa Bedinger was reminded of one of the most important outcomes of this work: the feeling of the building.

What does a truly regulated, calm school feel like? Learn how the RRP model empowers students, supports teachers, and builds lasting resilience in grades 7-12.

Burlington School District (BSD) has reached a significant milestone in its pursuit of racial equity. In just two years, the district shifted from a reality where students of color represented 50% of all suspensions to one where they now account for only 33%.

This trend signals a major step forward in addressing systemic bias and ensuring that disciplinary actions are more reflective of the student body as a whole. BSD is demonstrating that intentional systemic change can lead to measurable success for every student.

For the first time, one of the state’s most diverse school districts has eliminated racial disparities in suspension rates.

We are incredibly honored to announce that Dr. Fania Davis will be delivering the Opening Message at the 10th NACRJ National Conference on Community and Restorative Justice in New Orleans this summer!

Dr. Davis is not only a visionary leader in the global restorative justice movement, she is one of the founding mothers of NACRJ. Her commitment to racial healing and restorative transformation helped lay the foundation for the very community we continue to build today. To welcome her back to the NACRJ stage for this milestone 10th National Conference feels both sacred and full circle.

Have you registered for the 10th NACRJ Conference yet? Register now at our conference website to see Dr. Davis and our other renowned speakers at this landmark event: https://shorturl.at/CbP1z
