Fraternal Order of Police Nature Coast Lodge 164 mourns the loss of our brother, Vincent "Vinny" Spallino.

Vinny was a longtime detective with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, a proud military veteran, and a dedicated public servant who spent his life serving and protecting others. His commitment to his community, his fellow officers, and his country will not be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

"It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived."

Rest in Peace, Vinny. Though you are gone, your memory, service, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you. Your watch may have ended, but your impact never will.

This week, Fraternal Order of Police Nature Coast Lodge 164 was honored to host Hernando County Commissioner Brian Hawkins for a special event with members, supporters, and community leaders.

Brian shared his vision for Hernando County, drawing on his extensive experience as a business owner, entrepreneur, government contractor, and United States Navy veteran. His commitment to leadership, fiscal responsibility, public service, and support for veterans, first responders, and working families was evident throughout the evening.

As a lifelong Florida resident and Hernando County resident since 2007, Brian has demonstrated a strong dedication to our community and a proven record of leadership both in business and public service. His experience managing complex operations, implementing innovative solutions, and delivering results makes him exceptionally qualified to continue serving the citizens of Hernando County.

Nature Coast Lodge 164 is proud to announce its endorsement of Commissioner Brian Hawkins and encourages voters to support him in the August election.

This weekend we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This week, we join agencies across the nation in observing , a time set aside to recognize the dedication and courage of those who put on the badge each day to protect their very own community. This week also honors fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

As we reflect on this week’s meaning, we also pause to remember Citrus County’s fallen heroes: 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗝.𝗪.
