A long awaited partnership finally in the making 🎨💜 Over the last two weeks we’ve been building and bonding with the children and families of PS 262 El Hajj Malik El Shabazz Elementary School — and what a community to welcome into the Aster family ✨ We kicked things off with our Pre-Summer Caribbean Culture Adventure curriculum and these colorful carnival headbands say it all! Our Aster x PS 137 friends & teachers got a front-row seat to the magic of Afro Brazilian drumming, dance & music, performed live by at our 3rd Annual Love ball!

This is culture, passed down in real time and our children are now the keepers of the culture!

This day was an incredible day standing in solidarity with Pre-School and Early Education providers from across New York City. ✊🏽📚

I had the opportunity to share my story — not just as a provider, but as a parent, a community member, and someone who has dedicated over a decade to building something our neighborhood needed.

The response and feedback on the speech meant a lot. It reminded me that this fight is bigger than one program or one voice. It’s about the thousands of educators, small business owners, and families who make early childhood education possible every single day.

Our programs are the backbone of our communities. We hire locally, support families beyond the classroom, and nurture the next generation — often on the smallest margins. Yet too often, our voices go unheard.

Today we stood together to say clearly: Reform before expansion.

Please listen and hear the voices of the providers who have been doing this work for years.




and all legislators — we are asking you to work with us, not around us.

Invest in the programs that already exist. Support the educators doing the work. Strengthen the system before expanding it.

Thank you to every provider, parent, and advocate who stood together today. The solidarity was powerful. The message was clear.

Early education matters. Our voices matter. Our communities matter.

We’re bringing the island nations together for a night rooted in love, culture, and community.

Soca & Kompa: A Love Story Fête is more than a party — it’s a celebration of two Caribbean rhythms, two cultures, and one shared diaspora. 🇹🇹🇭🇹

This special night .nyc brings together the energy of Soca and Kompa, uniting communities through music, dance, and island pride. Music by , food by local vendors and more.

✨ All proceeds from this event will support our Early Education and After-School Programs, helping us provide cultural programming, arts education, and opportunities for youth in our community.
When you come out to fete, you’re also helping us invest in the next generation.
