Thank you to all that donated! We estimate to have collected around 100 coats this year which we just dropped off and sorted for ! With the temperatures dropping, it’s important we do what we can to keep our community warm. Help keep the community warm this winter! Brooklyn Donates will be collecting coats and monetary donations to distribute gently used and newly purchased coats to those in need. Monetary donations which will go towards purchasing new coats for those in need at and the gently used and newly donated coats with be distributed to their community as well as community. We will be collecting this Sunday from 9am-2pm at the Cortelyou rd farmers market and will be collecting during the week during business hours. Any support you can give helps ❤️

On November 18th, Brooklyn Donates is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for our asylum-seeking neighbors at Floyd Bennett Field. We’re hosting around 50 people, primarily families, as a way to send a warm welcome to New York with a multi-course dinner.
How can you support this event? Donating any amount will support the food and staffing; $30 will buy an entire meal for someone.

Brooklyn Donates is partnering with to collect winter coats for our asylum seeking neighbors over at Floyd Bennett Field. We will be collecting new and gently used coats through December 1st and our drop off sites / times will continuously be updated over the course of the next month. You can also donate to Brooklyn Donates directly and all funds will be used to purchase new or gently used coats to donate. We’re accepting all sizes and would prefer quick drying materials (ideally not wool). We appreciate any and all support! ❤️

We just wanted to take some time to re-introduce ourselves! Pictured from left to right, we’re Leo, Jordan, and Olivia, the Brooklyn Donates board of directors.

With backgrounds in hospitality, public health, and sustainability, and a shared love for central Brooklyn, we are committed to serving our community in any way we can.

Our goal has always been to support our community- first by showing up for local small businesses during the pandemic- and now by bringing attention and resources to address environmental justice issues.

We are so excited about some of the initiatives we have planned for this winter, including an upcoming dinner and clothing drive to support our neighbors at Floyd Bennett Field.
