• “Pebbles was my very first pregnant foster dog, after being rescued rescued from a shelter in rural North Carolina. She was so relieved to be somewhere clean, loving, and to get some good food in her belly. She was immediately trusting of me and settled right in.” .cifelli (IG) (TikTok) shares her foster story, and we hope it inspires you to dive in to caring for a mamma dog this Spring!

“I had no idea how many puppies she’d have, and was shocked when a few days later she went into labor and proceeded to have 14 healthy puppies! She was an amazing mom and worked so hard to get the puppies raised.”

Pebbles was adopted and “is finally living out the life she deserves!” The puppies stayed with their foster until they were 10 weeks, and then were adopted - some by Carter’s friends and family! “I get to catch up with them frequently. It was absolute chaos in the best way possible and such a special time that I will always cherish. I am so glad I took the leap and said yes to fostering her! Since then I have fostered many pregnant dogs and it is such a special and unique experience each time.”

Who remembers these babies???? 🥰

We knew they’d be big, but can you even imagine when you’re meeting a precious newborn litter *exactly* 8 years ago that they’d grow up to be the size of a full grown adult? 😅

followed our founder/director Sarah Brasky exactly 8 years ago, and was able to capture this special mix crew in the most beautiful, natural way. had been given the honor of naming the litter - so we went for some iconic NYC eateries. 🗽 See collage for all the babies’ names!

Their foster mom did an incredible job raising them and caring for mama Allie; all 7 babies were adopted out once they were old enough, along with mama.

Have you ever seen a cuter foster tradition? What’s your special way to commemorate each adoption? For Kristin in New Mexico, it’s an adorable photo shoot for Every👏Single👏Animal. Plus, she manages to get the kittens to pose perfectly. “We’ve fostered 105 doggies and 16 kitties since we started in 2020.”

“We had a total of 48 animals in 2022, including kittens for the first time. All were adopted into loving and beautiful homes and left us all up to date on shots, fixed, and microchipped! We also had our first ever pregnant dogs (2)! All their litters went fully vetted to new homes. It's been such an amazing journey this past year.”

“Thanks everyone [in Foster Dogs’ FB group] for sharing in our wonderful journey since my first dog that we fostered in 2020. You've been there with me through the ups and downs. Through all the learning curves and advice.” We love all of this and can’t wait to hear what 2023 will bring!

Phoebe is an active happy social 1 year old 45 lb Husky mix. “This social butterfly has a hard time NOT saying hello to every man, woman, child, and dog on her walks. It's so hard being so popular!”

Chi mix Mimi is 7 yrs old and a petite 9 lbs. “She is charming in her own way though she does not see well so sometimes she will bump into you. Lastly, she must sleep with you.”

Peanut is a 12 year old 14 lb female Chi mix.“Peanut loves making a nest of plush pillows and blankets for naps, but her favorite spot is by your side.” She is fine with other calm dogs, and comfortable in city or suburban life.

🥸 Holy Charlie Chaplin, look at these foster kittens! Care of , in NYC. Sure, they’re not , but seriously, foster felines - especially mustachioed ones - will certainly make your day brighter.

Pictured: Tygra, Cheetara, Popcorn. All 3 months old! The first two are fostered with small senior dogs, and the grey kitty “greets you at the door and chases balls.” (Basically, a puppy).
