For those of you who haven't heard yet, Becky Hale (the one who runs the Clothes Closet with her husband) has started undergoing chemo again as her cancer has returned. We feel we need to let everyone know so they can pray for her and if they wish to help in any way with expenses for her travel to UVA for her treatments, it would be appreciated. As anyone who has gone through chemo or had a family member go through it, you understand that its not an easy journey.
We also ask for your patience and understanding as there MAY be days that hours might have to be altered due to this in the future. We HOPE not, but IF there will be, we will give as much advance notice as possible. Make sure you let everyone know that might not be on social media etc.
CURRENTLY there will be NO changes and we will be open on Tues March 3 from 11 til 6. at 155 Washington St, Bristol VA. Everything is free for personal use, no residency or income restrictions.

The MOST FAQ

*When are you open?
The first and third Tues of each month from 11 til 6. Look at the calendar for specific dates.

*Where are you located?
155 Washington St, Bristol VA (the large white building between the train station and First Baptist Church)

*How much do items cost?
Everything is free for PERSONAL use

* Do I have to live in the tri-cities?
NO anyone can come, there are NO income of residency restrictions

* Do you accept donations?
YES they can be brought on the days we are open.

* What if i can't come on the days you're open?
We're sorry but that is the only time you can come. We quit meeting folks many years ago after so many would never show up after scheduling to meet us there. WE got tired of wasting our time.

*What kind of donations do you accept?
Clothing, toys, books, linens, and household items (no bigger than a microwave) as long as all parts are there and it works. Pretty much anything but large pieces of furniture. Clothing should be clean and in good shape (no missing buttons, nonworking zippers, rips/tears, no stains, etc). please DONT just "dump your kids toybox into a bag". I cannot count how many toys we've had to throw away due to missing body parts/wheels/permanent markers on them etc not to mention the amount of pieces and parts of things we're not sure what they went to. We also accept financial donations to help pay the utilities.

* Do you have a donation box for donating if we can't come then?
No we don't and this is why. Because we aren't there every day. It might be several days between times we go by there and its not feasible for us or the other volunteers who come in occasionally to help. Can you imagine how much of a mess it would be if there WAS a donation bin? not to mention how many people would be going through it and leaving it trashed? So that is something we've never had and have no plans of ever having. PLEASE do NOT leave donations on the dock unless it is a day we're open. There's a 90% chance we won't get them or what will be left will be trash.

*How do I contact you all?
Via messenger HOWEVER you WILL get an AUTO response to every message you send. If you ask a question not answered in the auto response, we will answer it when we get around to checking messages, might be a few hours, maybe a day...but i will answer all questions that aren't answered in the auto response.....eventually :-)
