Funding Appalachian Music Education

For kids growing up in rural communities, access to arts education can look very different from what it does in a big city.

Distance, transportation, funding, and simply having opportunities nearby can all be barriers to arts education.

That’s one reason music lessons matter.

It’s not just about learning piano, guitar, voice, or drums. It’s about making sure kids in our part of Appalachia have the opportunity to discover what they’re capable of.

We think that’s worth making possible. 🎶

Every time a child gets the opportunity to learn music, something bigger happens.

-They gain confidence
-They find their voice
-They discover something they may carry with them for the rest of their life

F.A.M.E. exists to make sure that financial circumstances don't decide which children get that opportunity.

We're already doing this. We're already helping children learn, grow, and make music.

And we're just getting started! ❤

🎶 Today is Giving Day! 🎶
Join us in celebrating a day dedicated to supporting nonprofits that strengthen our community.

At F.A.M.E. (Funding Appalachian Music Education), every dollar goes directly toward providing music lesson scholarships for children across the Appalachian region. These scholarships open doors for students who might never have the chance to discover their voice, pick up an instrument, or experience the confidence that music brings.

💛 Your generosity creates real opportunities.
🎻 It puts instruments in hands.
🎤 It gives students a place to belong.
🎹 It builds the next generation of Appalachian musicians.

As you consider where to give today, we hope you’ll keep F.A.M.E. in your heart.

🙏 Thank you for believing in the power of music and the students we serve.

🎶 Music Can Change a Child’s Life 🎶

Music isn’t just a pastime, it’s a lifeline. For a child, learning music can mean more confidence, better focus, emotional expression, and a lifelong sense of belonging.

🎤 A voice lesson can help a shy child speak up.
🎹 A piano can teach perseverance.
🥁 A drumbeat can calm a restless mind.
🎻 A melody can become a child’s safe place.

But not every family can afford that opportunity.

That’s where you come in. When you donate to music education, you’re not just giving to a program, you’re investing in a child’s future.

✨ Give the gift of music. Help us change lives one note at a time. ✨

This weekend!

🌈 Bristol Academy of Music presents The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition!

Come out to support our students in their summer production of Wizard of Oz at Virginia High School!! This one hour adaptation is perfect for the whole family to enjoy!

Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.
