Thanks to your continued donations we were able to make a large delivery of individualized hygiene kits to Altec Industries in Burnsville, NC last Friday. Altec has an awesome mobile supply pick up for those in need. Supplies included food, water, diapers, baby formula, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products.
The outpouring of compassion and selfless service is evident in so many ways, but some of the things we personally witnessed include: the lineman working so hard to get everyone's power back on, the efforts of emergency management personnel and healthcare workers, groups of people on ATVs carrying supplies to hard to reach areas, a group of ladies set up on the side of the road offering free food and water to passersby, businesses offering free meals and a place for workers to rest before heading back out, neighbors helping neighbors sort through the wreckage and volunteers working at shelters and donation stations.
In the midst of such devastation, communities are showing up, loving one another and caring for each other in so many ways and it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
