Big thanks to Walnut Cove Membership Association for their generous support of bridge and creek crossing rock work in Bent Creek! This funding is helping build durable, sustainable crossings that protect water quality and keep trails accessible for years to come.

We also want to give a huge shoutout to Hoopers Creek Stone for their incredible support providing the stone and delivery for this project. Projects like this don't happen without partners who show up for public lands.

Every rock placed means less erosion, cleaner creeks, and a better trail experience for hikers, bikers, and everyone who loves Bent Creek. Thank you for investing in the trails we all share!

There’s a person behind every bike, and there’s a community behind every trail you ride. 🌲🚲 That’s why events like CRAFTED matter to Pisgah Area SORBA.

This September, CRAFTED Bicycle & Gear show will bring together the people who make our cycling community what it is, from builders and makers to riders, nonprofits, advocates, and the people doing the work on our trails.

We’ll be at CRAFTED as one of the nonprofit partners, sharing more about what goes into caring for the local trails we all love. Because a great ride doesn’t just happen. Behind every clear drain, repaired section of trail, removed tree, and reworked section is a community investing time, resources, and a whole lot of hard work.

Come say hi, learn more about the trails beneath your tires, and find out how you can be part of caring for them. See you at CRAFTED!

What an awesome evening of conversation and connection!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at REI for our Women in Trail Leadership Panel, and especially to our panelists for sharing their experiences, career paths, challenges, and perspectives on what it means to be a leader in trail stewardship.

But we don't want the conversation to stop here.

We're now inviting women who are ready to take the next step to apply for a scholarship to our Women's Trail Crew Leader Training Course this November!

If you love spending time on the trails, this is your chance to gain new skills, give back, and help shape the future of our trail community. No previous trail work experience is required to apply. Spots are limited, and the application closes on September 9th.

Apply at the link under our bio or visit survey.pisgahareasorba.org/scholarship-application-women-s-trail-crew-leader-course

A huge thank you to our partners Hunter Hometown Foundation, The NC Arboretum, SORBA, and the NFF.

Join Pisgah Area SORBA for a Women's Trail Work Day on Monday, August 24, from 5:30–7:30 PM!

Come spend an evening giving back to the trails, meeting other women who love the outdoors, and enjoying some time by the river. We'll be brushing back vegetation along the Davidson River Trail to improve the trail corridor and keep this popular trail looking its best.

We'll meet at the Cove Creek Trailhead, making it easy to cool off with a swim in the Davidson River after the work is done.

To top it all off, we'll fire up the grill afterward and enjoy some food and cold drinks together by the river!

Date: Monday, August 24th
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Trail Work Location: Davidson River Trail
Meetup Location: Cove Creek Trailhead

No trail work experience is necessary. We'll provide the tools, instruction, and plenty of encouragement.

Whether it's your first volunteer day or you're a seasoned trail steward, we'd love to have you join us for an evening of trail work, community, and fun!

We hope to see you there!

50+ drains cleared on Middle Black! 💪🌲

Yesterday, 10 volunteers joined our trail staff for a Middle Black Dig Day, tackling some much-needed drainage work. With plenty of wet and muddy drains to work through, the crew put in a solid day and cleared more than 50 along the trail.

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up and got their hands dirty!

And a special shoutout to Cognative MTB for supporting the workday with cold drinks, pizza, and some awesome swag for the crew. 🍕🍻
