The Family Place received a $3,000 grant from the Pisgah Forest Rotary!

This grant will go towards the Get Set collaborative for Family Dinner Series starting this fall.

Tie Dye Thursday is Thursday, June 25th at Brevard Family Place!

Our June Volunteer of the Month is Dale Boyd!

Dale is married to an amazing woman named Jenny, and have 2 kids, a son (Cullen, 30) and a daughter (Katie, 27). They have a dog, Gunnar, and 2 cats, Gus and Dharma. Dale retired from a career in IT when his eldest started middle school, so he could stay home and be there when both kids got home. In his free time, he’s hiking with his dog, working around the house, volunteering, and building stuff.

Dale’s wife, Jenny, heard about TFP through a visit during Vision Transylvania and they thought it would be a good fit for his skills. He’s been volunteering a couple months and says its “been very fun and uplifting.”

He has been working on getting the playhouse in Rosman ready for kids to use. “While it’s a work in progress, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It’s been fun to work on it while getting to watch the children play around it and watch the garden in Rosman grow next to me.”

Here’s what motivates Dale to volunteer: “I like to use my spare time to contribute to and help others that may not be as fortunate as I and my wife are.”

Volunteering makes him feel: “Great!” In one word he would describe his volunteer experience as: “Fulfilling.”

We’re so grateful for Dale’s incredible dedication and contributions to The Family Place. His work has made a lasting impact on our community, and we’re proud to have him on our team!

We understand that being a parent can be expensive. That's why we offer no cost programs, open play, resources, and support! If you ever need advice or a listening ear, our staff are always here for you. And if you need more personalized support, our Connect Program is the place to go.

Join us for Rainbow Bubble Art, a colorful and creative playgroup activity full of fun, bubbles, and hands-on art exploration! 🌈🫧🎨

Children will enjoy creating bright bubble-inspired masterpieces while building creativity, sensory skills, and playful connections with others. Come ready to play, create, and make a little colorful mess with us!

Blended Families is a warm and welcoming support group created for families doing life a little differently. Whether you are blending families, parenting solo, fostering children, or raising grandchildren, this group offers a relaxed, judgment-free space to connect with others who understand the unique joys and challenges that come with caregiving. Share experiences, gain encouragement and practical parenting support, and build meaningful connections.

The Family Place strengthens families and builds resiliency through support, education, and community building.

Through our open play time and our parent-led peer support circles, we aim to bolster the emotional and mental health of everyone who walks through our door. All programs are free and open to all.

By working together with our Parent Advisory Board, we create a stronger, more inclusive environment that empowers families and fosters connection.
