We have notified all grantees about possible funding and are busy trying to order instruments, paying for lessons, arranging for camps…it is a joy but it takes time! Be sure to keep in touch as we work together to make some dreams come true.

We have started notifying students about grant awards. We were able to fund or partially fund almost 2/3 of our applicants which is gratifying. It will take time to fulfill these grants, but we have started already. Congrats to all awardees!

We are very close to contacting students who have been selected for grants. With an overwhelming number of applications and limited funds, we think we will be able to fund more than half of the applications with full and partial grants!

We were inundated with applications so we have some tough decisions to make about who to fund…hopefully we will have them evaluated by the middle of the month.

Our grant period opened on the 1st and goes through the end of the month. Kids need a dream and a mentor to apply!

We had a huge football game in our town this weekend and the show of support from fans was, I believe, a part of a good win. These athletes have had years of being supported in school by other students, teachers, administrators. They have worked hard for years, they have coaches helping them to learn nuances that will make them better. And some of them will have football in their future lives. How wonderful. I can’t help but wonder what supports were available for the non-athletes. Our lives are immeasurably richer when we support the dreams of our children…sports, arts, sciences, math, speech, trades!

Today brought a chamber concert that brought vocalists from far away joining Montana artists. The venue was a Catholic Church…old school…so the surroundings magnified the music. The music was far beyond my capabilities but I could appreciate it because I have been exposed to such a wide variety of music my whole life. Sometimes the most important influence is experience. Please help us give a child in your life the opportunity to have an experience…concerts and lessons, local and national, country to rap.

When I see a football field filled with bandos, I am so happy. They have made an important commitment and support each other like their team does! And hearing a crowd sing the National Anthem or Sweet Caroline (bah, bah, bah) is unifying. Where would we be without music?

We went to see a locally written, locally produced play tonight and it never fails to raise my spirits when I get to see live theater. I admire the actors who are willing to share their talents and the audiences who want to support them. But many of our rural kids don’t get to see live theater. Our foundation could help a kid travel to Salt Lake to see Hamilton or Bozeman to see Shakespeare in the Parks! Or attend a theater camp. Or learn screenwriting or staging or audio or lighting. There are so many possibilities! Let’s make a dream come true together.
