Did you know Massachusetts SNAP recipients may be eligible for the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP)?

HIP helps SNAP participants get fresh fruits and vegetables by adding funds back to their SNAP balance when they shop at participating farmers markets, farm stands, mobile markets, and CSA programs. SNAP recipients are automatically enrolled and may receive up to $40, $60, or $80 per month depending on household size.

Massachusetts residents who meet income guidelines and receive qualifying public benefits may be eligible for a 42% discount on their electric bill and a 25% discount on their gas bill. Behind every successful Back-to-School event is a team committed to making it happen.

Our RAMWP and FMS teams spent the day preparing for the first Back-to-School event of the summer at our JPNDC Pitts portfolio, packing 160 JanSport backpacks, 50 pairs of ASICS shoes, diapers, school supplies, and a community closet made possible with support from Cradles 2 Crayons.

The LSJS Coalition invites families with children entering Boston Public Schools kindergarten for the first time to attend the Countdown to Kindergarten event on Wednesday, August 12, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Anna Mae Cole Center at 4 Lamartine St. Boston, MA.

This free event will help families prepare for the start of the school year with resources and information. Plus, every incoming kindergartener will receive the famous yellow Countdown to Kindergarten T-shirt.
