JPNDC Community. Prosperity. Results. Rooted in Jamaica Plain, working for a more equitable Boston. Comunidad. Prosperidad. Resultados. Con raíces en Jamaica Plain.

Trabajando por un Boston equitativo. JPNDC's mission is to transform the lives and amplify the voices of Boston residents who have been excluded from prosperity by an inequitable economic system. This Juneteenth, we honor the significance of June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing pursuit of equity and justice.

At JPNDC, Juneteenth reflects our commitment to empowering communities, creating opportunities, and advancing economic and social equity for all. As we celebrate this important day, we recognize the contributions, achievements, and rich cultural heritage of Black communities while reaffirming our dedication to building a more inclusive and equitable future.

Today, we honor the past, celebrate progress, and continue the work toward opportunity and justice for everyone.

The people who care for our children deserve to afford a home in the neighborhoods they serve.

Thanks to a new $250,000 grant from Capital One, JPNDC is launching a first-of-its-kind program to help home-based early childhood educators become homeowners and stay rooted in their communities.

Why it matters: more than 100 educators in our network run small businesses caring for children across Boston and the South Shore. Half worry about losing their housing. In recent years, 30 have already been pushed out of Boston, taking their businesses, and the childcare that working families depend on, with them.

When educators own their homes, they lock in their costs, strengthen their businesses, and build wealth that lasts for generations. That stability reaches every child and family they serve.

This is what community-driven solutions look like. We are grateful to Capital One and to the local leaders standing with us to keep our neighbors home.

The RAMWP team hosted a Financial Wellness Workshop at Rockvale Circle Apartments, supporting residents in building healthier money habits and reducing financial stress through simple, mindfulness-based activities.

Residents painted rocks to release stress and created affirmation jars to encourage calm and confidence around money. This workshop reflects RAMWP’s commitment to providing accessible tools that support financial stability and wellbeing.
