JPNDC is deeply thankful to Senator Mike Rush for sponsoring and Senator Liz Miranda for co-sponsoring a $100,000 earmark in the FY27 Senate Budget in support of our Micro-to-Small Business Services Program. This critical investment can strengthen our ability to provide technical assistance, individualized financial coaching, business education workshops, and financial assistance to local entrepreneurs.

Support like this helps ensure that micro and small businesses in our community have access to the tools and guidance they need to grow and scale. We are grateful to Senator Mike Rush and Senator Liz Miranda for their commitment to economic prosperity and neighborhood-based micro and small business development.

Big thanks to everyone who came out for the third planning meeting for the 3rd Annual Jackson Square Peace Walk. JPNDC’s Cristal Martinez, Associate Director of Community Organizing, brought together Jackson Square Lifting Our Voices for Safety Building Captains and Hyde Square Task Force youth leaders for another productive session.

Together, the group continued shaping the vision for this year’s Peace Walk. We appreciate all of the community partners and local leaders helping move this effort forward.

Looking forward to continuing the work together!

We are proud to celebrate our very own Halley Jeremie, Associate Director of RAMWP, who has just returned from the first professional development week of the prestigious 15th Pete Garcia Fellowship Cohort with NALCAB in Puerto Rico!

This distinguished fellowship recognizes emerging leaders dedicated to strengthening Latino-serving nonprofits and advancing economic mobility in their communities. We are thrilled to see Halley’s passion, leadership, and commitment honored through this incredible opportunity.

Reflecting on the experience, Halley shared:

“This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience where I got to connect with like-minded emerging leaders in the community development field to work through the interpersonal aspects of leadership development. We were given real tools to implement in our day-to-day lives to ensure that our personal growth and development was not lost while focusing on the work that we do for our community. I am so grateful to have been able to meet this wonderful group of professionals, and I'm thankful to NALCAB for facilitating this experience on the beautiful, vibrant, and historic island of Borikén.”

Please join us in congratulating Halley on finishing the first trip of four she will be invited to as a member of the 15th Pete Garcia Fellowship Cohort.

On Thursday, May 7th, JPNDC was honored as one of 10 Host Organizations recognized by the College for Social Innovation during their “Decade of Light” celebration at City Winery, commemorating 10 years of CFSI’s impact and leadership.

For the past five years, JPNDC has proudly partnered with the program by hosting student fellows and supporting the next generation of changemakers through hands-on community organizing experience.

We are especially grateful for Claire, our most recent Fellow from the College for Social Innovation, and the incredible work she contributed to the JS LOVS and JSNA initiatives during her time with us.

The evening was filled with meaningful networking, inspiring stories from alumni, reflections from the board and founder, and collective support for a program that continues to create transformative opportunities for students through experiential learning and civic engagement.

Cristal Martinez, Associate Director of Community Organizing, and Bashier Kayou, JPNDC Board Member, proudly accepted the recognition on behalf of JPNDC.

What an incredible evening and opportunity to celebrate community, leadership, and the power of experiential learning.

JPNDC was honored to have our Associate VP of Family Childcare Services, Francia De Jesus, attend the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) 2026 Sweetheart Pageant alongside community leaders and supporters dedicated to uplifting Hispanic youth through education.

This inspiring annual event continues to make a lasting impact by raising scholarship funds that help local students achieve their academic goals. Thank you to the Boston Public Health Commission for the invitation and to the Mayor’s Office for joining this meaningful celebration of community, leadership, and opportunity.
