Continuing our Celebration of 50 Years of Dedicated Staff! 💙💛

Meet Sarina Peters, a Youth Support Worker who has been part of CFP for the past two years. Through her work with youth in our residential programs, Sarina says she has learned so much from their stories—and from witnessing their resilience, kindness, and strength despite the challenges they’ve faced.

Her time at CFP has shaped her both personally and professionally, giving her experiences she knows will stay with her throughout her future career in social work. We’re grateful for dedicated staff like Sarina who continue to learn, grow, and make a difference alongside the young people they serve.

⛳️ Building confidence. Creating connections. Changing lives.

Our Impact Mentor Program recently hit the links at Buttonhole Golf Course, where mentors and youth spent the day learning new golf skills, sharing laughs, and building meaningful relationships.

These moments may look like fun—and they are—but they're also creating the trust, encouragement, and support that can make a lasting difference for youth who have experienced the foster care system.

In celebration of CFP’s 50th Anniversary, we continue our series honoring dedicated staff members whose passion and commitment have helped shape our programs and the lives of the children, youth, and families we serve.

Today, we celebrate Joyce Selman, who has been a valued member of the CFP team for 14 years and currently serves as Program Director of The Dorm. For Joyce, the heart of this work is the people—the relationships built, the stories shared, and the opportunity to walk alongside young adults as they navigate new chapters in their lives. Through The Dorm, Joyce and her team create more than a place to live; they create a community where youth feel supported, respected, and empowered to build their futures.

“I love working at CFP because of the inclusiveness—the opportunity to meet people, hear their stories, and learn from different perspectives and walks of life. You get to work with the community and the people in the community, while also working alongside staff who bring their own experiences and passion to the mission.”

For 50 years, CFP has been strengthened by dedicated staff like Joyce, whose compassion, leadership, and commitment help make a lasting difference every day.

Grace Mancuso has been part of CFP for 3.5 years, working in our Independent Living program supporting young adults as they transition into adulthood and independence.

“What I like most about my job is the opportunity to help and support our clients. My favorite memories are rooted in their success. Watching a client graduate, get the job they wanted, or successfully discharge, makes it all worth it.”

In her role, Grace is part of a hardworking team guiding youth through one of the most important transitions in their lives. She reflects on the strong sense of community at CFP, both among the young people we serve and within the staff who support them.

CFP is grateful to have Grace on our team—her dedication, compassion, and commitment to young adult success reflect the heart of our work and the impact we strive to make every day. Learn about career opportunities at CFP at www.c4p.org/careers

Knowledge is power — especially at the ballot box. 💪 We were honored to welcome Rhode Island Secretary of State Gregg Amore (Gregg Amore) as our guest speaker for an incredible YDS voting rights event. With a packed room of engaged young people, he walked through everything from voter registration and updating records to voting by mail and finding your polling place. Thank you, Secretary Amore, for investing in the next generation of voters, the future is in good hands!
