We Believe Survivors.

Conversations about sexual assault are becoming increasingly visible as more survivors share their experiences and stories. These conversations often bring differing opinions, questions, and public debate about disclosure, reporting, and the systems survivors encounter when they come forward.

We recognize that these conversations can bring up a lot for survivors, whether their experiences happened recently or many years ago.

Most sexual assaults are never reported to law enforcement. Survivors may share their experiences right away, months or years later, or not at all. There is no single way to respond to sexual assault, and reporting is never a requirement for receiving support from OASIS.

What we want survivors and our community to know is simple: We believe survivors, and we are here.

Our advocates are here to listen, help survivors understand their options, navigate the systems they may encounter, and walk alongside them as they decide what comes next. Every survivor’s path is different, and those choices belong to them.

OASIS provides free, confidential services to survivors in Watauga and Avery Counties. We are here when you are ready.

Y’all showed up today!!! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our flash tattoo and tooth gem event 💜 All funds raised today will go toward helping reduce barriers survivors face when fleeing intimate partner violence. We cannot do this work without the incredible support of community partners like Elevated Body Art and all the individuals who braved the rain for us today.
