The nonprofit North Carolina Writers’ Network connects, promotes, and serves the writers of NC. Visitors to our page may post on our Wall.

We encourage postings that spark conversation--about writing, about the publishing industry, about book events and books in general. NCWN members may post about their new publications. Book postings by non-members will be removed, as will all postings that might be considered SPAM. Contest announcements should be sent to [email protected].

Wonderland Book Club feature! NCWN Executive Director Ed Southern presented from his anthology "The Devil's Done Come Back: New Ghost Tales from North Carolina" this past weekend. He also talked about the importance of writing your own work in the AI era: "Write from the heart, hone your craft."

Registration for this year's NCWN Fall Conference is officially OPEN NOW!

This year's Fall Conference will be held November
6-8 in downtown Asheville. Check-in and classes will take place at Lenoir-Rhyne University Asheville
Center with receptions and discounted room blocks being located nearby at Embassy Suites and DoubleTree Asheville Downtown.

You'll be seeing your old favorites on the schedule
like Master Classes, Manuscript Mart and “Agents & Editors” panel discussions, as well as some new events such as "Affinity Group Meet-Ups,” informal gatherings of writers with commonalities like genre or geography.

The conference will be following a brand-new format and schedule this year, providing attendees more flexibility and lowered costs. NCWN members will be able to register for the full conference for only $199, with partial registration rates available for those who want to attend only one or two days of the conference.

NCWN members can attend the full conference for just $199—more than $150 less than previous years. Affordable partial-registration options will also be available.

Classes and check-in will be at the Lenoir-Rhyne University Asheville Center, with receptions and discounted hotel rooms nearby at the Embassy Suites and DoubleTree Asheville Downtown.

You’ll find returning favorites like Manuscript Mart, “All Stories Connect,” and our “Agents & Editors” panel, as well as new ways to connect and create, including: Affinity Group Meet-Ups, a Morning Pages Prompt Party, and a panel honoring Keith Flynn and 30 years of the Asheville Poetry Review.
