"Sharing God’s love on this corner, from this corner, to every corner…" by providing our neighbors with some of their most basic physical and spiritual needs.

Happy Monday everyone! After
serving 48 households consisting of 158 individuals last week, we are ready to restock our shelves. Below are our current needs:

-Cooking oil
-crackers (of all sorts)
-white/alfredo pasta sauce
-jelly
-ranch dressing
-mayo
-ketchup
-ramen noodles
-hamburger helper

We have plenty of black beans, but could use:
-chili beans
-baked beans

We have plenty of green beans and corn, but could use:
-all other canned veggies, including...
-canned greens
-lima beans
-mixed veggies

We have plenty of spaghetti noodles, but could use all other types of noodles, such as:
-elbows
-rotini
-etc

We are appreciative to everyone who contributes, in any capacity, to helping us assist our neighbors with basic needs and love.

💧 BOONE ENACTING STAGE 2 WATER RESTRICTIONS EFFECTIVE JULY 1

The Town of Boone will enact Stage 2 Water Restrictions beginning July 1, 2026, due to ongoing extreme drought conditions.

Under Stage 2, residential and commercial Town of Boone water customers are prohibited from the following:

🚫 Watering lawns, landscaping, gardens, parks, athletic fields, and golf courses (except under limited approved conditions)
🚫 Installing new landscaping that requires irrigation
🚫 Filling or refilling swimming pools, hot tubs, spas, and wading pools
🚫 Washing vehicles, boats, and equipment unless a water reclamation or reuse system is used
🚫 Washing driveways, sidewalks, buildings, parking lots, and other outdoor surfaces
🚫 Using water from fire hydrants for non-emergency purposes
🚫 Operating ornamental fountains, ponds, and similar water features
🚫 Serving drinking water in restaurants unless requested by the customer
🚫 Any unnecessary or intentional waste of water

The Town may impose civil penalties for violations. At this time, no water-use limits or surcharges have been imposed, but that may change depending on future drought conditions.

We are grateful to Caleb from Harvest House Church for helping us continue the "sprucing" of our food pantry.

Whew! What a busy day. Today, we served 84 local households consisting of 287 individuals. That's a 28% increase from our previous largest crowd. We're grateful to our patrons for their patience as we navigate how to provide assistance for the overwhelming need in our community. We're a work in progress. 😊

As always, our volunteers rocked! Thank you for giving of your time, energy, love, and patience to serve our neighbors in need.

"It takes a village."

Thanks to our church members near and far, our community food donors, food picker-uppers (Terry, Sharon, and Steve), and designated shoppers (Kathie and Tanya), we are well-stocked with shelf-stable foods for Monday distribution. Stay tuned for a glimpse of the perishables and produce we'll be offering.

And of course, thank you to whoever left hundreds of food items outside our door this weekend. You rock!

Corner Provisions food pantry at First Baptist Church of Boone will be open to any high country resident in need on Monday, June 15 4:00-6:00 pm. We have canned/boxed goods, fresh produce, breads, meats, dairy etc.

Y'all! We've got freshly cleaned floors and freshly painted shelves! We're thankful for our trusty "behind-the-scenes" volunteers who keep us going day-in and day-out. And we owe a HUGE SHOUTOUT to the team from St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Boone, NC who resheveled thousands of food items once the paint cured. When faith communities team-up, real change happens.

We will be open for food assistance to high country residents on Monday, May 18 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Anyone in need is welcome.

Today, (with help from 16 volunteers) and LOTS of donations, Corner Provisions food pantry at First Baptist Church provided food assistance to 66 local households with a total of 221 individuals. Approximately 15% of people in Watauga County experience food insecurity at any given point in time. Without assistance, many families are forced to choose between food and things like, fuel, medications, medical treatment, children's field trips, cleaning supplies, etc. This is a tremendous ministry, but now WE need YOUR help restocking our shelves.

What do we need?
(Almost) ALL the things:
-canned meats
-canned fruits
-baking goods
-spaghetti o's
-salad dressings
-cereal
-shelf stable milk
-breakfast items (pancake mix, syrup, grits, oatmeal)
-pasta noodles and sauces that aren't mac-n-cheese
-canned veggies that aren't green beans or corn
-hearty soups/stews

Things we DON'T need at this time due to generous donations from Lowe's that keeps us stocked,
-macaroni and cheese
-black beans
-applesauce
-green beans
-corn

First Baptist Church and Corner Provisions appreciates every single item, dollar, and minute of time that is donated to helping this minsitry be a success. Thank you to each person who has contribued in any way! We cherish you.
