Watauga Education Foundation

The Watauga Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) made up of a hard-working board of volunteers.

We support educators who foster a love of learning and sponsor community-oriented events that sustain students’ wonder, enthusiasm and perseverance.

On Aug. 25 our foundation held our annual Board Retreat. President Emma Lipscomb and Vice-President Mike Clifton and board members in attendance collaborated with each other and district leadership. Ex-officio board members Superintendent Dr. Leslie Alexander and Director of Communications/Community Relations Ms. Bailey Little were present as well as Chief Academic Officer Dr. Brian Bettis and Director of Student Services Mrs. Jennifer Wandler.

After presentations by Dr. Alexander, Dr. Bettis and Mrs. Wandler everybody split into the three established workgroups: Community, Teachers and Students to plan for this year.

We are excited for another great year of collaboration with the shared goal of improving experiences for students, teachers, and families in WCS!

It is going to be a great school year! 💜💙
