About Us:
The council is a collection of caring adults who work to connect community resources to the specific needs of students as identified by teachers and staff at local schools. The goal of the Promise Councils is to remove barriers to learning because we believe that all children deserve the opportunity to achieve success through education. Local teachers and staff have identified three key
areas of focus and the Promise Councils are committed to supporting students through:
•Providing more adult mentors for students
•Increasing opportunities for parental engagement
•Meeting physical needs of students when they stand in the way of academic achievement
There are currently thirteen councils and school officials have asked for help in establishing several more councils. To make this a reality, we need other caring adults to join us in this fight for our children's future. We would like to be able to call upon you as opportunities arise, and you can take the first step to help today.
