Promise Council Removing barriers to learning so kids in McLean County can succeed! We anticipate that this number will continue to grow.

About Us:

The council is a collection of caring adults who work to connect community resources to the specific needs of students as identified by teachers and staff at local schools. The goal of the Promise Councils is to remove barriers to learning because we believe that all children deserve the opportunity to achieve success through education. Local teachers and staff have identified three key

areas of focus and the Promise Councils are committed to supporting students through:
•Providing more adult mentors for students
•Increasing opportunities for parental engagement
•Meeting physical needs of students when they stand in the way of academic achievement

There are currently thirteen councils and school officials have asked for help in establishing several more councils. To make this a reality, we need other caring adults to join us in this fight for our children's future. We would like to be able to call upon you as opportunities arise, and you can take the first step to help today.

What an incredible day! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who participated in, volunteered for, dontated to, sponsored, or supported our very first Walk for Kids! Your generosity & enthusiasm helped make this event a tremendous success and will directly support local students & families through Promise Council programs.

A special thank you to our Presenting Sponsor Prudent Community Energy and our Community Champion Sponsor Rivian for their outstanding partnership and commitment to helping kids succeed. We are so grateful for our community and look forward to making next year's Walk for Kids even bigger & better!
