Many thanks to Dr. Gregory Simpson (far right in the photo), Dean of Arts and Sciences at Illinois State University for getting up with the dawn patrol and being the guest speaker at our January club meeting. He shared some interesting insights into his position and spoke very highly of his ISU colleagues. We're very fortunate to have such a great university in our own back yard!

It was great to welcome back former member Barb Wells to talk about the U of I Extension's Master Gardener program and their upcoming Home, Lawn and Garden Day on March 4. It will take place at Bloomington Central Catholic HS and run 8-3:30.

We were privileged to have Jeff Schwartz from the Diversity Project of McLean County return to speak at our last club meeting. He shared with us about the group's trip to Auschwitz scheduled for this summer and discussed some of the organization's past events and experiences. Had fun ringing bells for the Salvation Army yesterday! And special thanks to the nice mall-walking couple who bought Mrs. Fields cookies for those of us on the second shift. We filled our bellies while others filled the kettle! We call that a good trade!🎄👍

It was great to have our old friend Jim 'Woody' Woodward with us last Thursday. Woody has been fighting a valiant battle with cancer, and he shared some insights he's gained throughout his journey. Among these insights is Keeping the Faith, which also happens to be the title of a book he's written and expects to release in April. Thanks for taking your time to visit with us, Woody... your attitude and humor inspire us!
