Lions Clubs have supported eye health for over 100 years. To help this cause, the Shell K**b Lions Club collects used glasses around town. These glasses are recycled for people who need assistance with eyeglasses. You can drop off any type of glasses at Thrifty Closet, VFW, Freedom Bank, Shell K**b Library, the Senior Center, Harter House and at Lions Bingo. We also collect hearing aids.

The Shell K**b Lions Club held a successful Eye Mission on Saturday, Sept. 19, helping 57 clients with eye, hearing and diabetes screenings and free eye glasses. Thank you to Dr. Aubrey Roberts for providing professional optometry services. Lion Frank Lambrecht, Lion Paula Rodgers, and Lion Dawna Morris with Lions District M6 provided essential support for training, equipment and implementation. Gina McIlrath coordinated use of the Central Crossing Senior Center, an ideal venue for our Eye Mission. Several Lions from the Shell K**b Club and other regional Lions Clubs volunteered their time and energy to make this event a successful service for our community.

Someone put heavy adhesive tape on the CCC Park tennis court, apparently to mark pickleball lines. The court is already professionally marked for pickle ball. The tape damaged the court surface. The tape interfered in the tennis lines. The damage required expensive repairs, covered by the Lions Club. Please do not damage CCC Park facilities. It is a Federal offense.
