JUNTOS JUNTOS Collective is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2008 by Ailey/Fordham BFA student Joanna Poz-Molesky.

JUNTOS is a 501(c)3 non-profit that uses dance to build leadership and develop collaboration and intercultural exchange within vulnerable communities in Boston, NYC, SF/Northern CA, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua. The organization is committed to intercultural exchange and uniting communities through dance. The organization focuses on community outreach to cultivate international leade

rs by verbally and artistically exchanging cultural differences. JUNTOS provides dance workshops and performances to create long lasting cross-cultural relationships with low-income communities in Central America and students from America’s top dance conservatories. JUNTOS Collective conducts activity nationally in Boston, New York, San Francisco and internationally in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua. This organization is the first collective comprised of university dance students at various competitive conservatories dedicated to creating community across international borders. JUNTOS transcends a mono-cultural model and has already initiated change in the world. In the past five years, the Collective has performed and taught in four countries and 18 cities and has worked with over 65 students, 35 communities, and performed for audiences over 1,000.

Say hello to the wonderful artists who will be bringing their love of dance, community, and cultural exchange to Guatemala this summer!

Of our 10 Dance Volunteers, five are brand new to JUNTOS, and the other five are returning students, including Will Mrozek, a JUNTOSYouth Alum! These dancers hail from across the country, joining us from The Ailey School, New York University, University at Buffalo, Boston Conservatory, Vassar College, Alonzo King LINES, and Florida State University.

From June 2nd - 15th, we will be travelling to Xela, Panajachel, and Antigua with these dancers, teaching movement workshops, performing all-new repertoire, and diving deep into the rich culture and history of Guatemala.

We are so excited to be bringing all-new JUNTOS repertoire to Guatemala this year!

Unique to this year's program, our ten Dance Volunteers will meet in NYC for a weekend-long, in-person choreographic residency before journeying to Guatemala!
During this weekend, Jennifer Florentino and Chris Bloom will work with our Dance Volunteers to develop new works that will premiere during our JUNTOSAbroad: Guatemala 2026 trip. Dance Volunteers will also rehearse and prepare their own student works to present abroad.

Keep an eye out this weekend on social media for some behind-the-scenes content!

We're still riding the high of last week’s spring benefit, Celebración JUNTOS: Creando Comunidad. Thanks to the generosity of our JUNTOS Familia, we raised $8,065 to support the continued development and growth of our JUNTOS Abroad, JUNTOS Youth, and JUNTOSxChange programs! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who made this evening so memorable with their contributions that made the event a success. Your dedication to our mission is undeniable – we had people travel in from Texas, New Jersey, Connecticut, the Bay Area, and more!

Thanks to your support, we are so close to reaching our goal of $10,000 – just $1,935 left to go! An additional donation would have a great impact on the success of our future programs, especially as we prepare for JUNTOSAbroad in just over a week. For example, $50 provides one free movement workshop for a community in Guatemala, $250 supports the cost of transportation from Guatemala City to Xela for students and staff, and $1000 partially sponsors a Dance Volunteer’s tuition fee, making the program even more accessible!
