‼️ GOOD NEWS for children's education: the State Board of Education is adding science test scores to the state dashboard. 🥳

We're prepping for the start of the new school year, supporting 2,000+ TK-8 educators across the East Bay, and working with our Advisory Council partners including Exploratorium and Lawrence Hall of Science to keep the momentum for aligned science teaching and learning moving forward.

More than 80 teachers took part in our summer institutes and they are ready to incorporate science in their classrooms from Day 1 of the new year. They're also equipped to support their fellow teachers in embracing the power of high-interest, phenomena-centered science explorations to also develop students' reading, writing, math, and critical thinking skills!

Great article by EdSource, on these critical new updates to the California School Dashboard:

California’s science teachers are hoping that the addition of California Science Test scores as another state accountability metric will lead to more investment and a deeper appreciation of the Next Generation Science Standards’ potential to enrich learning.

🏫 Another school year of inspiration and impact is in the books! ✅

For almost 30 years, CRS has transformed science education for East Bay students and teachers towards equity, opportunity, and success. In a year marked by staggering changes to the science landscape, CRS has led responsive, innovative and collaborative initiatives for educators and brought thousands of students face-to-face with Bay Area scientists.

Our new report highlights impacts of our work empowering educators to center science exploration connected to students’ everyday lives into joyful learning. Foundational science skills are going to make the difference for our next generation as we provide exposure to diverse role models, chances for hands-on projects, and gateways into STEM career paths.
