That’s a LOT of science kits! 🤯 Sharing a huge thank you to HandsOn Bay Area and Google employees for assembling awesome material kits for elementary students to explore circuits, microbots, and more. These 1,000 kits will help us bring joyful science learning experiences to hundreds of East Bay elementary kids!

Google employees volunteered to put the cool kits together this summer as part of Googleserve Week. Nearly 100 Google team members also made donations – raising nearly $2,000 to support our STEM outreach programs in local schools.

Just scheduled the first BASIS (Bay Area Scientists Inspiring Students) scientist-led lesson of the new school year for a class of eager Oakland 3rd graders. They’ll explore energy and circuits with a team of chemistry grad students from UC Berkeley.
