Free fun for everyone! Come check out the 32nd annual Pistahan Festival in Yerba Buena Gardens, on August 9th-10th from 11AM-5PM at the San Francisco Yerba Buena Gardens and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, for a weekend of amazing Filipino American food, dance, and fun!

This year’s Pistahan Parade is happening on August 9th down San Francisco’s Market Street. Don’t forget to tag us in posts/videos, either memories from previous years, or this coming August!

The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) extends our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the family, friends, and loved ones of Nolan Xavier Wells.

We join in mourning the loss of a young man whose Filipino heritage was a meaningful part of his life. May his memory be a blessing, and may his family find strength, comfort, and peace in the love and support of those around them.

Happy 4th of July from NaFFAA Northern California! 🇺🇸🇵🇭

Today we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America, and Philippine American Friendship Day.

From 1946 to 1962, July 4th was celebrated as Philippine Independence Day, later moving to June 12th- the day Emilio Aguinaldo declared independence from Spanish rule in 1898.

July 4th also marks America’s recognition of Philippine independence, as declared under Proclamation No. 811.

This day commemorates July 4th 1946, when the United States formally recognised Philippine independence and the Treaty of Manila was signed, ending nearly five decades of American rule.

This July 4th we celebrate the immigrants who have built this country from the ground up. We commemorate the indigenous lives that were lost, and honor the enslaved black people whose labor built this nation. Today we recognize the immigrants who have shaped this country for the better. 🦅
