Tonight is Children's Art Walk! We've got art from thousands of students up in dozens of businesses around town. We've also got some exciting entertainment scheduled, both at our gallery and at The Hotel Leo. Quinn Murley will be spinning poi at Allied Arts throughout the evening, and Christian Anne Smith and Andy Koch will doing two puppet show across the street. We hope to see you in a few hours!

Sessions are Thursdays 6:00-8:00pm, May 14th, 21st, and 28th.

Join Debbie in her studio, Thursdays May 14, 21, & 28th from 6-8pm, for an instructional 3 session mosaic workshop. Everything you’ll need is included. Choose from 4 different bug designs, the 3-bird project or a customized 8″x8″ or 8″x10″ project.

Tools, materials and hands on application will give you the skills to walk out with your own handmade mosaic and inspiration to make more!

The Family Clay Table taught by Nana Thebus

1213 Cornwall Ave Bellingham, WA 98225

Sessions are Thursdays 5:30-7:00pm, April 23rd, 30th, and May 7th.

Learn the basics of ceramic hand building with this workshop for the whole family. We’ll make beautiful and functional mugs along with other small kitchen items like condiment bowls and spoon rests, while exploring slab work, coiling and pinch pot techniques. In this three-part workshop, we will create items during the first sessions then glaze what we’ve made on the last session. The class can work for all ages creating together, creating unique functional ware you can use for years to come. This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and is FREE to veterans, military members, guard, reserves, kids older than 6, spouses/partners and caregivers.

Artist Feature: Barrett Lizza
At Allied Arts we are committed to uplifting artists and celebrating their stories. A few weeks ago we stopped by Barrett Lizza’s studio/shop for a tour and short interview. During our chat, Barrett shared a bit about his inspirations and how he survives as an artist.

This Friday is the opening night for the Recycled Art and Reuse Expo! RARE celebrates the creative use of recycled pieces through a juried art exhibit at Allied Arts Gallery. We also spotlight art organizations and facilities promoting sustainability. Our goal for this exhibit is to educate the community on the ways art contributes to sustainability, and to leave you with new and resourceful ideas that highlight the importance of creative reusage.
