We’ve been busy this winter! We got the opportunity to attend multiple town halls for the Arts, Culture, & Creative Economy transition team and give direct input about what our music industry needs from this administration and learn more about what challenges other sectors of the creative economy are facing as well. ✨ We also joined again for their AHS Advocacy Week in Olympia where we shared our priorities with representatives from across the state. ✨ We were part of a roundtable with other nonprofits and to strategize how to help improve the visa process for artists of all disciplines ✨ We provided testimony to support important ticketing reform introduced by ✨ Took part in a think tank about how to increase funding opportunities for the Creative Economy ✨ and next week we’re heading to Toronto for global summit

Highlighting the WA State music industry, we take a deeper look at how the Washington music ecosystem directly employs 49,200 people and supports 74,700 jobs when multiplier effects are included. It generates $6.37 billion in direct GDP and nearly $10 billion total—outpacing industries like electric power, semiconductors, and spectator sports.

While the numbers are staggering, many in the industry still struggle.
